Last night, I was laying in bed watching TV, trying to go to sleep. There was a coyote that was just outside my neighbors back yard. It was raising hell with his dog. I listened for a while, and then couldnt resist.

I grabbed a call, Krustys call he sent me, and went out the front door and started answering the coyote with whatever sound he made. This really fired "him" up. He came into my back yard and we had quite a conversation!! Alot like that first coyote in Higgins video. Just kept going and going. Not to mention every dog in a mile circle raisin hell at us.

This went on for the better part of an hour and then another showed up. About that time, my wife said I was going to have all the neighbors pissed, so I came in. They continued for another 15 minutes or so and then went on.

Pretty fun for me. Havent talked to the neighbors. I was tempted to let my dogs out to play with them, but with it being dark, really didnt want to. Especially my young dog. Shes not very experienced yet.

Pretty cool night.

An hour of that commotion after bedtime? The coyote you mentioned in the video went 90 minutes with me until I quit. That was from 6:00AM to 7:30AM and the Home Owners Association banned me from the neighborhood.
Andy, I hope your neighbors have a sense of humor. [Smile]
More than likely they will not know you were involved. They just hear barking and howling. Don't tell them it was you. [Smile]

Rich,

I've seen more coyotes in the last two weeks than I have in the past year.

If you want to come down and play, just let me know. We don't have any of those silly Home owners associations around here.

I'd like to catch a few on film myself.

Rich,
I havent talked to the neighbor. He may not be happy.... [Smile] With me blowing into his front door and the coyote into his back door, Im sure he heard it. [Smile] Come to think of it, my wife just pointed out that we havent seen their Cocker Spaniel that it was raisin hell at to begin with today. Wonder if it made a mistake? [Confused]

What do you think that coyote may have been up to? After the dog? It was basically a series of a couple of barks and a short howl. Over and over again. With a few whines that lasted about 3-4 seconds that changed tone 3-4 times in that time frame. Hard to describe. I could repeat it on a call, but kinda hard on here.

Pretty neat regardless. I have heard them do that before, but not that close to the house. I have had coyotes in the yard before, but not that vocal. Going to try it again here shortly.
