Randy & Kelly touched on something interesting over on the 'Volume' thread, and rather than hijack it, I thought that I'd start a new one.

Question; Do you guys call the same in the morning & evening when coyotes are moving as you would in the mid-day when you would expect the coyotes to be bedded??

..........and; Does time of day affect stand selection as far as open areas or heavy cover??

The only difference for me is that I start stands with a howl or 3 in the mornings and evenings. I guess I howl usually sometime in the middle of the stand too. I usually sit 10 - 20 min. - I'm fairly inconsistent length-of-time-on-stand-wise.

I will howl during the middle of the day only if I get bored.

I would think the MAJOR difference is to increase the length of the stand, all things being equal? However, reading between the lines, I have to wonder if you are too rigid in your habits.

see here

I would advise you to mix things up a bit, regarding where you call early and late and mid day. Yes, it helps to have a routine, but I have switched things enough times to know that the most unlikely places, the worst part of the day and things that run contrary to logic, all of these things and conditions, at any given time and place, can product coyotes.

This is why you should not ever say never and always when discussing anything about coyotes.

Good hunting. LB

PS How many time do I have to tell you, koko? There is nothing preventing you from hijacking a thread! That's PM shit, and Predator Professionals. We got no rules. Read the TOS. There is no TOS!

I know, koko, but old habits die hard, especially when you're as old as we are, huh? And, Tom, that's a high recommendation, thank you!

Good hunting. LB

Actualy I do love this place for the way it's run but I also am smart enough to recognize there's a wealth of knowledge here.

I have learned alot of things here that would've taken me decades to learn on my own. Along with all the kidding, there's plenty of info shared for those who want to learn.

Yeah, that's the main reason why I run this place, hoping to pick up nuggets from AR and Kelly.

If you call the coyotes in close, you won't NEED a high dollar range finder.
