I have been having a little trouble with the print mechanism overprinting a few lines, in summary.

I called Oehler and they said the mechanical parts were worn out and needed to be replaced. They offered to replace the whole unit for $50, if I sent it back with a check and they would pay return postage.

I called them Friday, since I sent it off almost a month ago and they apologized, there were a few things at Oehler that caused a delay but they said the unit was mailed and I should receive it Monday.

UPS left it about fifteen minutes ago, and now I can get to the range and do a little testing, something I have wanted to do since before I sent it, but at my advanced age, I plumb forgot and sent the unit instead.

Well anyway, they still have not cashed my check but I'm glad to have it back and consider it to be good service and a bargain. I just thought I would offer a testimonial for a good company and a good product.

Good hunting. LB

The new member "prune picker" is the buddy I referred to that owns the Ohler I use sometimes. Maybe he'll chime in but he sent his in for a checkup and they were very easy to deal with. If I was rich like you two, I'd own one too.

I sent mine in appx 4 or years ago ( i think ).
They told me later that they replaced "innerds" with new , updated parts . All that at No Charge ! That single device changed my entire reloading habits from i think , to now i get it.
Most if not all of my data for Ackley Improved guns became very user friendly as i have a range in my back yard & the time to do it.

Sorry i strayed from subject. When i ordered my 35p , i spoke directly to Dr Oehler . He is about a nice a gentleman, a fellow could ever want to meet. I almost got the M 43 instead . Dr Oehler said if i wanted to upgrade i could trade the 35P back in at full credit . But i haven't done anything but enjoy the 35

Leonard , have you had a chance to try your 35P since being repaired ?
Most people i have spoken who have the 33 , 35 , 35P's haven't anything but good to say about the product.
On mine i use the short spacing ( 0 - 12 - 24 ) inch spacing of sky screens . Do you use the same , or the long spacing?

For me, I tried to used the two foot pipe that came standard with it, but didn't like it. First, I made one, and I can measure four feet pretty good, but it just didn't work so I ordered a four foot bar and it solved my problem. Never have had any reason to change anything in 16 years, so far.

No, I have not been to the range yet. We have had rains and it might be a little tricky getting across Lydel creek so there's no real hurry although I would like to sight in my new handgun.

Good hunting. LB

If i remember correctly the 4' spacing gives a more accurate "Proof speed" .
If you need a place to shoot , i mite know a guy W/ some land up the pass from you . He doesn't mind if responsible people go there to hunt and/or shoot. send me an e mail if your interested.

I'm a member at West End Gun Club, up the canyon from the Lydel creek Rd. The only thing I don't have there is 1000 yards. Does your friend have that?

Im not sure , I have shot out to appx 400+ there some years ago. But during the last building spree people were calling here trying to buy the 40 acres claiming housing tracts were coming .
Let me call the caretaker & ask him. I will let you know .

Leonard , I finally had a chance to speak to the care taker of the land . He has been avoiding contact with me due to the standings in the A L west. Seems his Angels don't match up well vs the Rangers , again .
The 40 acres has "a bunch of brush these days".
In the past i have made shots out as far as i dared (450 yds +). I haven't been on the place for appx 5 years, But Coyotes & Cats are there.
Joe (care taker)only hunts the Quail in season.
If you wanted to do some calling it wouldn't be a problem. He hinted a shotgun would be best until the next firebug shows up.
For long range shots , i use to go out to Razr rd. (near state line). I used every fire arm i owned there to shoot coyotes for years & some of the shots were all any varmit hunter could dream of.

Hmm? I wonder how the camping might be? Been wondering about a location for the campout this year. I think Raser Rd gets a lot of off road bikers?

Good hunting. LB

The last time my pals mentioned it (2008?), it was in the middle of the down cycle of the Jack Rabbits. We hunted the area pretty hard in past "up" cycles with little to no effect in over hunting the area.
I couldn't accurately guess how many 22-250 rounds i fired out there & kills made.
If the rabbits are there (to support a good coyote population) it could be a very fun time for all

Another poss site might be up in the Buttermilk Area ,not far from Bishop. Not even sure if a guy could still hunt there? I was told many years ago that the LA CO Water Dist owns a large part of area open for hunting & camping,
But the elevation there might be a prob for some
