When sighting in coyote cartridges like the 600 nitro I usually hold the firearm closer to my body therefore creating a firearm backstop.Soft stomach tissue is the best firearm backstop available on the human body to date.

In the video the shooter was using his forehead for the firearm backstop. The bone in the forehead is much to hard to be used as the firearm backstop and could cause damage to the firearm.

Welcome to the New Huntmasters, CCP. Glad to have you on board.

Yeah, how many times did it take for this guy to know it wasn't going to work? So, he mounts a friggin' scope on it? Lucky he didn't have it imbedded in his face.

Good hunting. LB

holy cripes, that is nuts! killing two birds with one stone, himself and the intended target. kind of like letting go of the bow itself while at full draw. kachink, thud!
that thing should be mounted on an Abrams not in someone's hand.

Leonard. The story I got with that video was that there was a custom gun show.

The gunsmith's guild had a show going and each gunsmith had a show gun that was made for competition in the show. The smith that made the 600 nitro had a sign with that gun that even though it was a working piece it was not made to be fired do to the nature of the beast. Don't think I would have needed that sign.

Well it seems if old triple meat decided he had to have it. The gunsmith told him not to shoot it. He invites all his buddies to come to the range to see him shoot it. Don't know who held what was surly a near empty bottle of whiskey for him. The rest his history.

About a year ago a police officer from IL. posted that he was going to build that thing & then later came back & posted that video, supposedly the guy in the video is his buddy John something-or-other......true or not that is a ridiculous handgun & the builder needs to be whacked in the head by something.

Alright, kids,... THIS is why you ALWAYS wear proper shooting glasses.

You know, ... for when the gun recoils out of your hands and nearly rips your whole damned face off.

Some guys just have to learn the hard way.

Lance- Sitting around a campfire in Colorado with my dad and brother several years ago. Dad puts a skillet on the fire to fry an egg... waits five minutes then reaches down to see if the pan is warmed up enough. "SHIT that's hot" he screams.

My brother replies, "No way it's hot enough yet" then proceeds to reach down and touch the pan. As he rocked back and forth holding his scalding fingers my father and I looked at each other speachless. I knew right then the mailman was my father.

That video seems to confirm my theory that the two most common elements in the universe are hydrogen & stupidity.

At the very least, he should now have a flinch for the rest of his life.
