My grandson came over last night and the PS3 keep giving us this error code: 8001050F. This virus has the entire PS3 online gaming network down worldwide:

http://www.worldcorrespondents.com/playstation-network-down-how-to-fix-ps3-error-code-8001050f/8880

I'm going to try to get grandson to shoot some hoops tonight while I have the chance.

Yes, it is a real tragedy. One some of the blogs, these kids are saying what are us PS3 addicts going to do. They even admit that they are addicted to living in a virtual game world.

My dad was a ham radio operator. He carried forward from being a radio operator in the Navy during WWII and Korea. I look at talking on these forums as being almost the same thing as his old hobby. We are just using a different medium to talk thru.

God forbid that he runs out of minutes on his cell phone. Civilization as he knows it will implode upon itself. I know,..... I've seen it happen right here in my house.

If I could have but one do-over, it would be to go back to the first time my son brought anything video game-related into this house. I'd promptly shove it up his ass. Kids today are worthless as hell - my son included. Everyone complains about the teen drinking problems and that there's no way to fix them. Huh? Look at the source - free time.

No homework because they get plenty of time to do it in school, if they're even given any. That, and everything's on computers now so they can't even do it from hom.

Federal and state labor laws prevent them from getting a job to occupy their excessive free time. Combine that with this economy and we have a lot of kids with idle hands.

Now, here in Kansas, and I presume elsewhere, too, a lot of school districts are talking about going to four day school weeks. Great idea. What we save in school finance expenses, we'll pay to the courts in fines and corrections costs because, I don't know about where the rest of you guys live, but if they give the teens around here a whole 'nother day of free time, half of them will end up in jail.

Bunch of weenies. I never had time to get into trouble as a kid.

Quit voting for Freakin' Liberals, Lance! They are a more formidable ememy than al Quada. Progressives are from another planet, in my opinion.

And, if you say, "hey, I didn't vote for them" well, somebody did?

Have you noticed that the Health Bill, after the Mass election was back burnered, in favor of "Jobs, Jobs, Jobs". That lasted all day, and now they are back grinding away on Health Care, whether we like it or not! How has Health Care become the single most important subject in America? Drunken Sailors should feel insulted by comparing them to Liberal Democrats. Where in hell do they think this money will come from? Bill Gates has enough sharpies advising him on how to avoid his "share" of taxes. All the rich have smart people advising them. So, who is left? Lemme see? Maybe the vast middle class?

By god, somebody voted for change we can believe in and I am not going to forget it! Witch hunts!

Good hunting. LB

Emergency, Emergency....PS3 down worldwide. Call in the troops, billions of teens will actually have to step away from the controls. What generation are the teens nowadays in..Generation Useless?

Cdog911,
What are the school districts expecting the dual working parents to do on that day off, when the school's are usually baby sitting their kids? They'll probably give a tax break to the residents since the kids aren't using as much school time right?

The next step will be mandatory gaming on the Fed's network... the best will be further trained to do all the remote control fighting in the next Cyber war.

Just like when we were kids and saw the first jets and rockets in cartoons. These kids will eventually physically atrophy like in the song, "The Year 2525", if man is still alive...

Instead of broken bones, cuts, and bruises these kids all end up with "Thumb" rot and carpal tunnel injuries. [Frown] Very sad...

Wife bought one of those abominable games over my vehement objections. She almost got the enima treatment. Son took it off to school and returned the following spring without it. When quizzed to its location he said it quit working and he threw it away. Damned thing was still under warranty. My tongue lashing resulted in blisters and third degree burns. Won't happen again.

I wish the damn network had stayed down. It is up and running again. Kids need to experience more in life than Xbox or PS3.

With that said, my mother use to say something similar except it was the TV instead of a game. I realize now that she was right back then.
