You guys probably remember the antelope Cal killed last year on a tag he had been trying to draw for years. Well, since he won't brag on himself I thought I would.
The goat officially scored 91 4/8 which places it number 1 in the state of Wyoming and tied for number 16 in the world. That's one hell of a goat! Congratulations!

Yeah, and he didn't take much credit for the length of the shot, but I thought it was amazing. He made the point that a long shot with that particular rifle was nothing special, or some such wording, but I still think it was outstanding.

Great shot, but how does a pro like Cal miss his measurements by over an inch.
Congrats Cal.

Yes, good job, Cal. Did you luck out a little or was it skill, hard work and talent, all the way?

The Boone and Crockett score was actually higher than I thought it would be. He grossed 92 3/8 and netted 91 4/8 which as Brad stated will be the new state record. Thats an official measurement and what was sent to Boone and Crockett last week, but I'm a little gunshy about posting much till I have the stuff back from them. I've seen too many internet deals go south and know that people are generally suspicious of these type postings.

Dang Cal, that goat makes some of the trophies they show on the Outdoor Channel look like a kid goat. Congratulations on a great trophy, something to be proud of from now on.

Cal, I assume it will have to be scored by a panel now? Jeremy

It depends Jeremy. They typically panel the top 3 or 4 from every 3 years between their renewals. If he happens to be in that group it is a possibility, but if the kill some pigs in AZ and NM that are bigger then he may not make the list. Or so I'm told. So he could still shrink or grow. Thats the part of B and C that I don't like. They make a big deal out of the fact that a hunter can't "shop for scores" and can only have an animal scored one time by one scorer. Buuuuttt... if THEY choose to they can score and rescore till hell won't have it.

Levi, Good to see you over here. It's a pretty good place to hang out.
This was in area 61. First time I had drawn it.

I am still a sponsor selling a few calls on PM but the open fighting on the boards with the mods is starting to sour me a little bit. I still go over there and donate calls in the youth section from time to time. I dont know if you ever remember meeting me with Murphy but I met you several years ago, Suzie and my wife are good friends.

lwilliams, not for sure, but hell, Murphy knows everybody! I think you'll find this place far more to your liking than PM. Good bunch around here.

Cal, you should make a road trip to the Big Horn show in Spokane next year. Bring that bad boy along, have it scored at the show, win some awards, and book some trips.
