We were a bit broke this last weekend, so after church we headed to the Eastern Plains of Colorado. Being broke, I filled our leaky radiator and several gallons of extra water then we headed out! We were looking for snakes, coyotes, turtles, lizards whatever... My kids really wanted another box turtle to so we could make baby turtles. I found this really cool property with about 50-60 jackrabbits spotted in just a half hour or so. Everthing was super green, we've had tons of rain latley.

We did find a really big male turtle just around 8:30pm or so. So far this year we've caught bullsnakes, tadpoles, garter snakes, a tiny 5 inch plains blackhead snake (courtesy of NASA) leopard frogs, a kangaroo rat, and a vole. They last two were pets for a couple of days then they became snake food.

Man, summer is fun with kids. Now I'd like to go take the critters (my 4) and try to get some baby coyotes on video. Sounds like fun Rich!!!!! [Smile]
