I know cross posting from differnet boards is frowned upon, but bear with me. I just wanted as many people as possible to realize what a great weekend THEY had.

Best laid plans don't all ways work out. For those that had a bad weekend I will make you feel like you had a great time.

Lets start with me getting a late start going to the camp. I had my Speedex loaded on the trailer and my feeders and corn in the back of the truck. I drive 60 miles and stop in my old home town to watch the rival team from down the road beat our football team by 1 point with less than 2 minutes left in the game. It was our 100th game against them and we lost 14-13. My nephew missed the extra point.

I get to the camp at about 11:00 PM and the electricity is out. A line down somewhere. I get out the oil lanterns and begin to settle down for the night. Up at 6 AM and am going to mow around the camp. The second pass and I spin out a hub on the belly mower.

Load the tractor back up and drive to my buddies house to fix the hub. Can't drill through it to put a pin in so I just take the gears out of the box to take to the Machine shop on Monday. We take the belly mower off and I head back the woods.

Unload the Speedex, unhook the trailer, hook it up to my tractor and load the corn and feeders from the truck to the trailer. I drive about 3/4 miles down the trail to the first spot I plan to set a feeder. I turn off the trail and make about 20 yds till I get to two trees the trailer wont go between. Not a problem. I will simply back up and find another route. I am backing up a hill when the tractor spins down and sticks. I get off and start walking.

Get to my truck and drive back home(75 miles) to get my 4 wheeler. Listen to LSU get robbed of a win by the officials against Auburn. I get back to the woods about dark. I know a good storm is coming and dont want rain on my corn.

I load the 4 wheeler and begin through the woods in the dark. Hit a tree with the feeder and break the spinner off the bottom of the canister. Went ahead and hung the feeder and filled with corn. will fix the spinner next week. go back to trailer and load second feeder and corn on wheeler. As I am loading the wheeler goes dead. I try to crank it and it wont crank. Thought to self"surely it is not out of gas". It was. I walk out again. Drive home and go to bed.

After church Sunday, my son and I go back with gas. another 75 mile trip one way. Gas up and set second feeder, unhook trailer and manually drag back to trail. load wheeler in truck, hook up trailer and drive tractor on trailer and go home.

This hunting season is gonna be great. I have allready gotten all my bad luck out of the way.

I spent a whole day Saturday and got absolutely nothing accomplished.

How was your weekend?

Terrible! The Oregon officials took one away from my team!

Ragin
I know how you feel I had a week like that one day.

Sounds any one of the five Mondays I have each week to me. LOL Hope it isn't foretelling of the rest of the season for you. It's all up from here.

Brad, I heard about that. Saw it on the front page of USA Today today. Those officials all got the gate for their screw ups, too.

My 'Cats are doing better than anyone expected them to do so far. Our defense shut down a nationally ranked offense this past weekend and we lead the nation in lost yardage after downs. New coaches, new schemes, new everything and the nay sayers are hush hush now. This Saturday will be a different tune. Playing #8 Louisville and plan to bleed a lot. LOL

Randy, I'd hate to be your nephew right now. He's gonna have to do something special to get that dog off his track. Especially, in a small town. [Frown]

Nasa. I talked with him Sat. and he seems to be handling it fine. He is a freshman and is second string kicker. Our regular kicker had limped off the field after he scored the touchdown. They called my nephew out and he was rushing to beat the play clock. Just one of those things. We are a single A town. only 33 players on the team. Since 1970 we have won 10-12 championships and lost at least close to that in the title game. We beat this rival in 1971 for the state title with a tied score. We actually won the championship title because we had more first downs when the game ended. Since then the HS level has gone to a sudden death format.

If anyone is interested, Google-Haynesville Golden Tornado. It is quite impressive for a small town of around 2000 people.

CDog,

It was as bad as the article you read. Our defense still had a chance to stop them but couldn't do it. I can't lay all of the blame on the officials, but had they gotten the call right, we could have downed the ball and ran out the clock.

I think I could take the guys on this board and score on our defense! We'd have to put Leonard at quaterback however.

My weekend wasn't too bad, but this past summer sure sucked.

My place got hit by lightning twice. Only about $1,600 damage the second time, first time was a little over $10K Did you know getting hit a second time, really pisses off a homeowners insurance company? They were great the first time, but they have been nothing but pricks this time.

I spent over $1,000 in a benchrest rifle, only to have my ass handed to me every time I take it out. Then on the way home from a match, the oil pump in my wife's car quit.

It cost almost $3k to replace the engine, plus I had to buy a car for my wife to drive while it was in the shop.

My idiot neighbor ( Closest one I have, and he lives a mile away ) has decided that half of the road leading to my place belongs to him, and the hell with the easements, he fenced it off. The county won't help, they claim it's a private road, therefore a civil matter. I hired an attorney to sue him, but the attorney seems to run on Mexican time, and six weeks later, I'm still waiting for the paperwork to be filed "First of next week"

And today, I got a note from the wife telling me that our fourth swarm of Killer Bees in the last few weeks was working on making a new home in my shed.

And did I mention my bout with Shingles a few months ago? I lost vision in one eye for a few weeks, and I still can't wear a hat due to the pain it causes. But at least I finally got a sense of feeling back on the left side of my head, now I just wish it would quit itching and aching all of the time.

I must have missed the ballgame, who was playing?

Holy Smokes Tim. The New Testament tells us that "the prayers of a righteous man availeth much."

I'm going to do everything in my power to get really righteous so that my prayers for you will avail!!!!

Sorry to hear about that crud and especially that #($%#%(!#@ neighbor of yours.

ooops sorry about using that kind of language. This is gonna be tough, but here goes, excuse me while I go repent, purely as a favor to a friend. [Wink]

Tim - they say Shingles is caused by stress. What are you stressed out about? Oh wait:

Lightning, oil pumps, benchrests, neighbors, Killer bees...Hell, I'd have Shingles too!

edited to answer your question: Oklahoma was playing Oregon and got royally screwed.

Don't nobody piss off Locohead, when Danny talks to Jesus, he gets results fast!

I was coming down the street this morning, going past my Attorney's Office, the cell phone rang so I pulled over to answer it. It was the Attorney, he said if I could make it to his Office to sign the papers before he left for Bisbee, he's file the suit today.

I had pulled over to answer the phone right outside his Office window.

Thanks Buddy! That was just the kind of help I needed, you really made my day!
