Really. I'm leaving on Friday with the wife and my two rugrats. Any of you been?

I may try and start a fist fight with Donald Duck just to make it REALLY memorable for the boys. They are 5 & 7 yrs old and are totally geeked. Should be a good one [Smile]

Smithers,
The wife and I took a trip there in 1991...I am sure it has changed a lot.

We stayed in Kissimmee, (sp?), rented a car and had a blast! Went to Epcot which was really cool, even back then. Took a day trip to Cape Canaveral to the Space Center which was awesome.

Also did MGM or Universal Studios, whichever is the one not hooked up with Disney.

Hit SeaWorld which was well worth the admission, too.

With a 5 and 7 year old, the Magic Kingdom is a must...don't know about Epcot, it might bore them.

The two movie studio deals might be pretty good, I am sure the technology has improved the experience in the last 20 years!

Have a wonderful trip!

I've been to Disney, Magic Mountain, Sea World, Epoch(SP?) Center and Knots Berry Farm. For 5 and 7 year old children, I would concentrate on Disney Land and Sea World. Epoch Center is more educational and quickly becomes redundant. Knots Berry farm isn't worth the trip IMHO. Magic Mountain is Roller Coaster city which have size restrictions that your youngins probably couldn't pass. They do have some great roller coaster rides but also have very long lines.

I think I have been in Disneyland numerous times, starting the year they opened, which (I think) was 1956? There is usually something shut down, like the Matterhorn and I always try to eat at the Blue Bayou which is the one you see when you take the Pirates of the Caribbean ride. The food beats all the fast food venues in the park, except #27, of course.

But, my comment is slightly different. I happen to know a couple that have been married over ten years or so and couldn't get her knocked up, so they adopted, and were lucky to get a baby one day old.

Well, the baby was 2 last November. The mother takes that baby, by herself to the L.A. zoo, Knott's Berry Farm and buys season passes to Disneyland, which she and little Vincent have been there (I'm sure) more times than I have, lifetime. And, for a while, we were going annually. I'm pretty sure they go 25/30 times per year?

I just don't get it? When she isn't dragging the kid to Disneyland, it's to the Mall or any place where she can spend her husband's money. They get something like $500 per month, from the County Welfare Agency, as support for Vinnie, besides totally free medical, and I happen to know that they blow every cent, instead of socking it away for the boy's education. Husband is an electrician and works steady, makes very decent money, but this chick is clueless.

I just wonder, what's next? By the time the kid is five, he should be sick to death of Disneyland, which is not how it should be. It should be a treat, not something completely routine.

As I said, I really don't get it. I'd love to say something but, because of relationships, that would be very awkward. So, the only one stewing about this ridiculous situation is me. Say something? I would like to give her a piece of my mind.

Minnie Mouse [Big Grin]

have a good time, I stay in the sports and music hotel, its pretty cheep, but there are some real cheap places out side the park . but its much easer to stay in the park. bus picks you up and drops you off no parking hassles and the busses are free . but out side the park i think the black swan is like 40 bucks a night. but not the nice's place in town

sports and music is the place to stay

Booger & AZnative we decided Epcot was out for the reasons you mentioned.

George, we're staying on the property and it ain't cheap [Smile]

Leonard, it's gonna be a once or twice in a childhood thing for my boys. Their version of an exciting trip is going to Bass Pro [Smile]
Thanks for the info guys!

Good deal. It's too bad that half of your time is spent waiting in lines. At Disneyland, they have a thing where you can get a ticket to show up later, and then you can do other things besides stand in huge lines to get inside the building only to find that the line inside is longer yet.

Good hunting. LB

edit: PS, it was 90 here, yesterday.
