Got your call today. Sounds good in the house. I'll be on a fox hunt tomorrow and will give it a try to see what I can scare up.
For the others, it's an open double reed howler from Maple with a lot of satin tiger stripe in it. Being an open reed call it makes real good distress sounds too. Takes little effort to blow the distress and is loud. It fits real comfortable in the mouth due to the nicely done compound curvature.
Thank you. You do nice work.
You need to seriously come up with a logo decal or brand in order to set yourself apart from the others.

Jay,
I am glad you got it, and that you like it.
The model is actually a "Leonard's Special-Red Desert Replica", I am not sure how well you'll be able to howl with the doubled reed.
I had come up with this for my logo;

I had made a branding iron but it is too large to use on the call bodies. I thought about laser engraving, but never quite made it to that stage.
It's all moot now, I announced I was going out of the call making business this week...
Good luck with the call, I'll be trying the Brass Rhino you made me (from the same maple) this weekend.

I recieved my Krusty Howler in the mail the other day myself. If was made of Plumb wood, A very nice texture and figure to it as well, almost has tigger stripes in it. Very nice looking call. It howles very well, the mouth piece has a very easy to use texture with a smooth curve right in the middle. Takes little air to blow and makes a good pup destress as well.
I got the call in time to take it out with me the other night. I used it several times for howling and it done a fine job! I am very happy with the call! You do fine work Krusty! And make a very fine call..... The only thing I was up set with about the call was the fact that you did not sign it?????

I know that I like mine, very much. It looks a little like a small horn, and is also made from plum wood. Understated, and well designed. I think it's a nice piece of workmanship.
Good hunting. LB

Thanks for the kind words.
Here's a picture of the last round of calls;

Top to bottom, Kee's plum howler, Jay's flame maple R-D Replica (modeled after Leonard's), Bearman Rick's bear cub bawler made from black walnut, and a spalted rhododendron wood call I made for Ron Welsh (another call maker who makes a fine lil' closed reed call, which AllPredCalls carries).
