WoooooHoooooo!!! I was on my way back from town, took the family in for a buffet at the truck stop, last night. Just a piece up the road from the house, this yote comes a runnin up out of the ditch and smacks right into the side of my truck!!. I got er shut down and backed up to look and he dun runnoft into the ditch and momma wuddint let me get out and look fer him cause I didnt have nuttin but a 22lr with me. So, I had to run home. I knew time was against me but I was gonna give it my best!! I slid sideways in the driveway hard enough the ole ladys door swung open n she landed on the sidewalk. My boys run in and got the first yote gun they could find, a 12ga with 4buck. The boys run back to the truck and off we went. We could easy see the blood in the headlights and the yote was layin just off the side of the road.

I dont have a camera so you will just have to take my word for it. But hes a dandy. I would say hes either 1 or 2 years old and wont be eatin my neighbers cows no more. Thats fer sure.

I cant wait to get the rug back from the taxidermist. I just hope the paint chips come out of the hair between the ears.... [Confused]

How's this for a nick-name? "ROADKILL" that would really scare the bad guys you hunt for. LOL

Andy, as really weird as it seems, I had a complete day dream of much the same thing happening to me last night. The family and I saw a coyote. It snowing and Brrrrrrr cold outside. I left the family in the car and ran down to the river hoping to call it where it would have to pass within seeing distance of the Suburban so everyone could see it. It never happened and I gave-up after only a few minutes because my juevos froze solid and I had to limp back to the car.

The whole time I was sitting there, all I could imagine was the coyote trying to cross the street and getting hit. Then I'd have to throw it in the back and run home and skin it while it was still hot. Funny little daydream came fairly close to a reality for you it seems [Smile]

Hey Andy (AKA RoadKill)
Since TA pointed out that we can include eyes, ears & yips in our counts, my success rate has really soared.

Question; If I watch a video with 20 kills, can I include them in my kill count???? [Big Grin]

I drive my family around sometimes too. We've been trying to run over a yote all winter with no luck. I think it's mostly because there are so many other families out driving around trying to kill yotes in the same places we drive. I don't want anyone to give away any honey holes or anything like that, but could you tell me just a good general area to drive around in?

Thanks!

Kokopelli, where'd TA point that out? I must have missed, though I wish I hadn't.

I think that it was somewhere in that 14 page train wreck where we gave out a great deal of hard-learn'd advice.

I chased down and shot 11 today, but only one of them died on a road, and it was a two track, so I don't know how to count them. My vehicle had large wings and they were all shot, we didn't hit any with the vehicle (thankfully or I wouldn't be typing this) so again I don't know if they are road kill or not. This stuff is so confusing anymore.

If you shot any of them more than once you can count that as multiple kills, too. Doesn't matter if they died on the road...

After all the first shot would have killed them and the second shot really killed them dead. Imagine how many you can shoot with a 30round clip in your AR!

Don't forget the cardboard shell catcher thingamajiggy, and the tarp! That way, instead of countin' dead yotes, you can just count your empty brass and go from there!

3Toes;
I belive that the formula that you're looking for is as follows;

(Model # of the aircraft) X (your years of experience) X (the estimated coyote population in your hunting area) + (11) = (total kill for an unspeficied time period) [Roll Eyes]

Randy, actually I had to do a little different celebration due to circumstances of the kill. Instead of the normal fist pumpin endzone dance, since my truck wast the weapon of choice, I cut a cats ass in the shape of the #3, to pay tribute to the man, Dale Earnhardt, while holding three fingers out the window and pumping them in the air!! All the while the coyote was down in the back of the truck.

Fur Down!!!!
