Been out hunting for a couple days, and had a pretty good couple days. The first morning I killed two old male coyotes that came in together. There had been a heavy female killed from the plane there a couple days before, so one I suppose was her bachelor. The next morning was interesting also. I had a den location figured and went in. I had 4 very agressive coyotes haul ass in to the dogs. Only one of my dogs seen them coming because they never barked or howled on the way in. My first dog met them coming and got his ass handed to him, so he headed in, meanwhile my other dog heard the commotion and was heading to the battle as the other dog was leaving, so he got overhauled by all 4 coyotes at the same time. But the first dog decided to wade back in and rescue his buddy which was a good thing because in the melee I was having a tough time getting a clean shot at anyone and I had figured out which coyote I wanted to kill first so I was holding out for that one. Finally I got the coyote I wanted shot, and another as fast as I could, then called one of the remaining two back and killed it to make it a triple. I got the den for 8 more, bringing the two morning total to 13.
(disclaimer: all of these coyotes killed were withing a mile of some very cute fuzzy baby lambs)

Cal, I've got a big brand new camera to break in, it's only two weeks 'til Scott and I are there, and I would probably give my eye teeth to get that on tape. Are you up for the same thing again?
