Jerry and I made a quick stand this morning before work and called in acouple of fox. We were using a FOXPRO call and a Predator Supreme decoy. I was playing the rabbit duet, and at about the 5 minute mark here comes two grey fox bouncing in to the call. We haven't got many fox left(to many coyote I suppose) so we just watched the show. One of the foxs was very shy and would not come closer than about 100 yards. The other wasn't shy at all and hung around for a while. We got about 8 minutes of good footage of him messing with the decoy. At one point he pulled the cover off and ran with it for about 3 or four yards before he droped it. It was very entertaining, and we got some great footage of him making that fox bark/growl. The brave one would go to leave and I would change to a different sound and he would come back just bouncing. He left and came back several times. Hope ya'll enjoy the pictures.

this is the brave one at about 6 yards. The decoy and call were at about 15 yards.

Jerry did great on the camera.

Yeah, thanks Byron, good pics. Hey, have you ever heard an injured gray fox really scream, like a banshee? It'll scare the crap out of ya!

Good hunting. LB

Sure have. The huffing sound they make when not wounded will startle you pretty good also. Especially if you don't know their there, and it comes from right behind you. I called in, and shot two fox right at dusk when I was a kid. I had a third one off in the bushes huffing at me and it scared the hell out of me. It didn't help much that I was quite a ways from home and it was getting darker by the minute. It was several years later that I saw one do it, and then it dawned on me what was huffing at me that night. I got some great footage of this one huffing.
