I don't know that this is extremely interesting to everybody, but I will do my best to give you an answer, and a timeline.

A Guy named Frank designed Huntmasters just about the time when Posse Country, (where I moderated) closed shop. I went to another site started at the same time; Predator Masters with Will Craig, and we enjoyed some success.

Frank eventually sold Huntmasters to The Hunt for Land people, affiliated with North American Hunter Magazine.

HM was a little slow, not much traffic and I agreed to Moderate the Predator Hunting Forum, and built up the membership even while things between me and Predator Masters were not doing so good.

Eventually, and with some persuading by Rich Higgins, I took control of the site, but it had a few serious flaws in the program and we decided to start over with a brand new Board; which is the reason why we call this Board, The NEW Huntmasters. So, the original guy, the Chairman of the I.H.L.A., blanked out everything and turned it over to me, and that's why he was member #1 and I'm "only" member #2.

Anyway, I took the opportunity to ask the members what they wanted in a Predator Board; a lot of bells and whistles, advertising, 40-50 different Forums, or what? Most people wanted a simple, easy to navigate mesage board geared to the specialist.

No archery, game recipies, joke forum, exotics, waterfowling....just hard core predators, in a loose format that allows everyone to feel comfortable in discussing just about anything that strikes their fancy.

But, in spite of the chitchat, we still have a very experienced and talented membership, these guys know their stuff and we are all lucky to have them. And, all the members are my friends, it's really like an extended family to me.

This New Huntmasters, with membership spread by (mainly) word of mouth, began almost two years ago, coming up in February.

Good hunting. LB

Thanx for the history. I'm always curious about how things come about. I got tired of other sites where all the do is lay in wait and pounce on someones question/comment which may not be to their liking. Everyone has a legit question/comment I think. I want to learn about predators from other experienced hunters because I just got into this a couple years ago. I get a real charge out of trying to figure out what the hell them coyotes are thinking. If any of the members want to send me stuff....let 'er rip. Samples etc. I don't have any money, just good looks to go with my 17 ". Hahahahaha

Leonard and Gutpile,
I had actually been wondering who #1 was also. You may be member #2 Leonard, but we all know your #1! [Big Grin]

Although I seldom post on here, I do follow what's going on every day. I usually learn something and I'm always entertained. Keep up the good work Leonard! [Smile]

I also have really enjoyed the threads started lately by Rich Higgins. They are very informative. I hope you can think up some more of those Rich.
