Listening to Paul Harvey the other day and he was relating a story about some guy that locates bombs and explosives using rats. The guy says that rats are smarter than dogs, easier to transport, replace, etc., and that females are much smarter than males. Now, I can see that. After all, most females of any species aren't burdened with constant reminders of boobs, curvy hips, and boobs. (and how many of us have almost bit the big one 'cause we were too preoccupied with boobs?)
Do you see a skewed response rate between females versus males in coyotes? Not so much with howling because the very nature of that method will have major infuences, but rather, with distress sounds. Just curious.

You never know? Seems to come in clusters, depending on conditions? I have seen a predominance of females and a predominance of males, any given day...or night? You would think it would work out to be 50-50 but some times, it's not that simple.
Good hunting. LB
