The clouds finally lifted and it quit raining. Of course the West Texas wind decided to blow instead. Headed to one of the hotspots and boy is it muddy and slick. Luckily the ranch has a main oilfield road that runs the length of the place. First set up was near a new well location. Called and set there maybe three minutes when the first volunteer showed up. Another one for the Swift. Used the Krusty Krier on that one. Next set used the Tally Ho and had a dog come in from my right in some heavy brush. Never could get a clean shot so he wasn't completely educated. Next set was a big zero.
Drove a ways and found a nice pipeline right of way. Killed a dog here last Spring, just might get another. Pulled out the TH and went to singing a tune. First yote comes running down the R O W fast. Pop it at 10 yards and thought it would roll up in my lap. I keep working the TH and another one comes out of the cactus. I drop it at about 50 yards. This is good, try for three. Yep here comes another up the R O W but stops around 60 yards broadside. Swift does its thing again. Look at the watch and 10:05am

Well, I hope the clouds part and the rain stops here around Phx, so we have the luck this coming weekend that you and Mr Q are having... actually I know it isn't luck, it is work, and getting out and calling is the first step in the process....

Good luck there in the heart of west texas...
