I actually called in a coyote yesterday myself. I did地t really see it come in. I just saw it standing and looking at me about 30 steps in front of me. I do地t know how it got there. A friend gave me a call for pumas and said it would work on coyotes. It did. I aimed and missed it with my shotgun in the dirt but it was exciting. I forgot to pump another shell and hurt my shoulder when it did地t go off. Yolanda did地t think it was a big deal and asked what I would do if I did get it. I told her I would make her clean it.Ha ha.
I have shot coyotes many times before and never got excited. I have been in a hurry but that痴 different. I can地t really place my finger on why.

If you're anything like me, I always get on edge a bit when calling, knowing something could pop up any minute -- and close. Gets the adrenaline going.

When I'm hunting but not calling (i.e. whitetail), I occasionally see a coyote out doing his thing and blam! No anticipation, not on edge, nor much adrenaline to speak of -- usually happens too fast to get very excited.

Just a possibility.

And congrats -- you called one in. Getting one is fun, but sometimes just knowing you called one in for a shot is the real reward.
