Finally... a thread that is in no-way related to owls, hawks or eagles.

Killed one with the new rig- shiney barrel and all. Sending it off for some Duracoat in the near future... felt good to get it bloody first.

You puppy killing bastard! How dare you shoot a coyote this time of the year!

Oh wait, that's not a wet bitch.

Nice Shot!

You gonna tell us a little more about that new rifle, or do we just tell Leonard and Rich that it's another 17?

No milk there, just a yearling female. Don't worry I gave her one of those southwest skinning jobs. [Big Grin]

That's a Savage 12 Low Profile in 22-250 and it shoots great. My first kill there took a 45 grain hollow point to the shoulder joint at 100 yards. I'm not a wonderful marksman but that gun makes me look good... I shot a few papers with it yesterday and they were some of my best groups ever at 200 yards. 1-5/8" to 2" is great for me.

Going to have the Savage Duracoated in Shadowgrass, complete gun-scope-bipod job. I'm working on another rifle also, one of those marginal K-9 calibers (.204) for the light work. It'll be spray painted once I'm through adjusting the scope and trigger. I'm trying to get my new rifles together and all the kinks worked out before September- big plans for fur this fall.

Yes Vic, it would've been a beautiful pelt! I was suprised at how clean she was... but it's not that big for my area, maybe 23-25 pounds?

I took a big step down in the world of rifles this weekend... shot the new .204. It's very accurate, but inconsistant on punching through cardboard at 100 yards! [Smile]
