Here is a photo of the first Cronk distress call that was molded from deer antler. Twenty five of the calls are now being molded, and should be ready for market in a couple of weeks. [ April 24, 2007, 08:29 AM: Message edited by: Rich ]

Mr. Cronk, are you cutting several different reed styles, thicknesses, and widths to determine which sounds best on the calls? I have always wondered how many different combinations a callmaker goes through before they decide on a sound they like. Great looking call.

Smithers, All of the things you mention will indeed have a direct effect on tone. I lean toward a loud predator call, and have found .015 mylar to do almost everything I want in a reed. Width of the reed will vary according to what I am looking for in a particular call model. Length of reed is also critical.

Kokopelli, I don't have an exact figure just yet, but I am thinking they will retail for about 20.00 each. The call in above photo was sent to me for my approval, and I have given them a thumbs up. I hope to have the first 25 of the buggers at my door within a week.

Higgins, I wasn't having any trouble attracting ticks, not even before I heard my first predator call. I didn't kill the nursing momma ticks though, honest I didn't.
Leonard, I recently learned that I am allergic to a couple of diffeent mold types, so I hope I don't call any of them kind of molds. Anybody know what price the mold pelts brought this year?

Just last night I was perusing the PM website for the first time in a while. The 2 Rich's have quite a bit of fun at one another's expense I must say. I enjoy the back and forth quite a lot.

Me too, smithers. For several years, Cronk and I have sparred with each other in a rolling battle of wits. Cronk usually shows up unarmed, but he's a good sport.

From what I have heard, he may be unarmed....but he's not ugly.

smithers, Sometimes I feel a little bit ashamed of myself for picking on poor Mr. Higgins. Have you ever seen a close up photo of that kid's face? My Daddy taught me to never pick on poor little ugly kids, ya know what I mean?

Jay N. has been a bullseye for quite some time as well. I have the Mr. Cronk up 1 point at the moment for the dental assistant from Scottsdale post.
I love the spring time flair up. Never see it here though. Hmmmmm....

"I have the Mr. Cronk up 1 point at the moment for the dental assistant from Scottsdale post." ----------------------------- Smithers, No I don't think the dental tech was uncle Jay. Now that the Scottsdale elephant man has been court ordered to always wear a mask in public, we may never know his true identity.
