....BAaaaaad to the bone...that's what I say about the Higgins howler, there ain't nothing like it, just got mine in a trade I made with Rich, and you guys were right, it's Bbbbbbb-BAAaaaaaDD!
I love the ease of use,the ease of carry, the wonderful high quality sound, and it looks absolutely awesome! Mine is a little unique and different from many,in that the sunburst and Coyote are side by side, as opposed to being on opposite sides! I love that, the fact that it's unique among a unique set of custom howlers . Awesome, truly awesome,I'll treasure it for a lifetime, this is one item I'll never part with. Thanks Rich, much obliged, hope you enjoy your part of the trade as much as I'll enjoy mine!
On the same subject, so far I've gotten to watch about 2/3's of the video Rich sends out with his howlers, and it has changed my perception of what the terrain out West is like, fairly radically.I used to think you guys had it made, seeing coyotes come in from far away! While I still saw some of that,I also lost track of a number of them as they disappeared in the thick six foot high brush in many places. I see the need for a ladder now, Pup!
While here it is much thicker because we have the low evelevation brush like you all do,everywhere, and the various size trees and blowdowns to add to it, the terrain y'all are hunting in is not nearly as open as I imagined it to be.

Yeah you did,and once again I didn't listen, that's probably why I am also....a maaaaan of connnstaaant sorroooow.....
Dang,I love foot stompin' bluegrass,I'll bet I could play a bluegrass tune on Rich H's howler,it is that versatile! I intend to try the next time my seven brother in laws get together to pick and sing!
Went out on the porch with that Primos howler and tried to use it, got mobbed by a flock of Canadian geese that were passing over and somebody called the law on me,they tried to arrest me for impersonating a famous movie star, Daffy Duck.......
On the plus side, the Primos howler makes an excellent mosquito repellant...hell,the noise from that thing will repel most anything ![[Big Grin]](biggrin.gif)

SeldomEver,
I heard that the Higgins Howler is top shelf, I hope to one day have one . From what I've heard and seen, the craftsmanship is hard to beat. Sure would like to see for myself in person, up close, you know in my lap close... . Maybe someday?

Slydog, you make a great howler that sounds awesome, and both of you use many of the same techniques to do so.
But, ol' Rich's howler has some art to go with it that just can't be beat, and it is Rich in tone as well [pardon the pun ]just like yours. The two howlers, soon to be three when you send my second one to me,that I have from you and Rich, are my prized possessions, they will stay with me, someday one of my grandsons will inherit them.
I'll bet you ol' Rich is still working on yours or something, a while back in another post he mentioned he had several he was finishing for various people.
