TA17Rem,
I'm glad you like the new howler. Let us know about all of those coyotes you howl in with it. [Smile]

If you call the coyotes in close, you won't NEED a high dollar range finder.

Notice to TA17Rem and all coyote hunters: I also have a new Cronk Howler, and I want to forewarn some of the newer hunters or anyone considering the purchase of a Cronk howler about a problem you may encounter in its use. When you blow the Cronk Howler for the first time in the field, you are going to be amazed at how much louder it is than other howlers, and how much easier it is to blow. If you sit real still and keep a sharp eye, after your first few howls, providing your hearing is up to par, you will hear dogs barking and howling back at you on all the neighboring roads/farms, and Wylie may very well come investigating from the next zip code. If you use the Cronk Killer Call to howl like a younger coyote or possibly a sweet, young female, there is a good possibility that either a big pair or a jealous female or love seeking male will show up. Man, the quality of Rich's calls is amazing! I can't recommend both highly enough. I have always judged the quality of calls by not only the coyote response, but the response of hawks, crows, and neighborhood dogs, and the realism of these calls causes plenty of action from all mentioned. [Eek!]

possumal, funny you mention calling in crows. i got my first killer call a couple months ago, a little late to the party i know, and was telling rich how many crows i call in with it. if i were a crow hunter i'd surely be a world champion!
i have been calling in a lot of turkey buzzards, hawks and a few owls as well. they do a few passovers as soon as i do a jackrabbity-ish type scream on the killer call. they ignore any cottontail/ higher pitch sound on any of my calls including the killer. i've tried to call them using a deep raspy jack-type sound on other calls and they seem to react only to the killer call. the last coyote i called in came to that exact sound. they sure do like it. i just ordered another the other day 'cause i am freaked out about losing or breaking it and having to wait for another. now i'll have another on hand just in case.
