I started turning calls about a month ago and would like some feedback on them. Good and/or bad.
Here is what I made so far, minus the 4 in the second to last pic, and 1 howler. ![-](http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c59/PAyotehunter/lamdistress014.jpg)
The ones on the top shelf with barrels behind them are two piece calls I designed. Its an open reed distress and you press on the barrel for a loud howl. I only made four so far. They are in order, the one on the left is the first one I made Here are better pic's of those. ![-](http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c59/PAyotehunter/lamdistress012.jpg) ![-](http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c59/PAyotehunter/lamdistress010.jpg)
I'm trying some new woods now, tell me what you think of these. From left to right: Eclipse, closed reed Zebrawood, open reed Wenge, open reed Osage orange & Padauk, howler

Thanks.

Those are some sharp calls!
For a "weed tree" that Osage Orange sure produces some pretty wood.

I'm surprised you're not selling a few of those yet. They look great.
Speaking of weed tree, the juniper we have here has an incredible mix of colors and the same consistency as cedar.
E-mail me your address and I'll send you a few samples to play with PA. I'll be sending some to bearman soon too.

Tim, Thanks. Osage orange turns nice and is easy to finish too.
Brad, I belong to the PA Predator hunters Assc. and we had our annual picnic this past weekend, I sold a few there. I'm still not sure on prices though. I was thinking: $10 for a closed reed $20 for an open reed $30 for a howler Does that sound right?? I'm not sure about the two piece calls. They take quite a few hours to make. I know I can cut the time down but they still take extra time to get a good fit. The ones I made so far need to be "pressed" together. They won't come apart you have to pull them apart, and that is the fit I want them to have. My name is Aaron W Sparrow, so I'm signing them A.W.Sparrow's, dating and numbering them also. I would like to try juniper. I'll send you my info. Thanks.
Andy & Alaskan Yoter, Thanks Do you see any in particular that you like??

Todd, I'm not ready to sell any of the two piece calls yet. I want to make sure they will still fit together good after they are exposed to heat, cold, and damp/humid conditions. I'm confident they are fine now, but want to be sure. The first one I made is spoken for, sorry. I will let you know when I'm ready to sell them if you like. Plus I'll have more to choose from. Thanks Aaron

I'm trying to send you guys e-mails but I don't think its working. I'll try again, let me know if you get them. Thanks. Here is mine: slsaws2004@netzero.net
A friend of mine and myself just started our own message board. You can go there if you want to see better pictures of my calls as I made them. Its www.huntnpa.com You can find them in the "custom callN" forum. The board is new, so almost all the posts in that forum are from me. My "handle" is Tracker.
Edit: Added my "handle". [ September 19, 2006, 07:55 PM: Message edited by: PAyotehunter ]
