Ok all you new field staff guys, please tell me which callers ya'll are using and if you're using the newest version or not. If so how have they been working?

I sent mine in for the first upgrade and thought of a few changes I'd like to see made but when I called them they were way ahead of me. Told me about 6 weeks initialy before they would be ready. I think I've been told 2 more weeks 4 or 5 times now. I bought it in Feb and sent it in in March or April, now I don't know what to think.

hey, Tom. Long time, no speak. Hope you're well.

I don't have an answer for you as all I get to do is sweep up the shop at the end of the day. Maybe change a few lighbulbs if they're feeling generous. But, I sent an e/m via the super secret covert contact address so they would know youre out here.

My guess is that all those callers they've sent out up to now came back in for upgrades, just like yours did, like a tidal wave and they're busting their butts just trying to get their heads above water again. I'm holding off sending mine in until they get you customers taken care of. I'm sure it won't be long.

Sorry to say it Tom but I know what you are feeling and I have been on their end as well. Pushing dates back by weeks at a time isn't fun. They probably have one guy just to deal with all the people calling about their callers. They have to juggle making new product and upgrading old. It's not an easy task. They feel the need to give a date because "I don't know" just doesn't cut it. Sometimes an I don't know is better than stringing people along but some customers need to be strung.
I work for a company that imports small engines. We usually have a good many of those engines backordered. When the containers get backed up at customs it is almost a full time job calming customers down. We have to string and have been strung. It sucks and I don't envy the position they are in right now. Good luck guys.

Last i heard they where organizeing the shop and out getting new sounds. I was told not to send mine in till after April i think. Like you i have sent mine in and i'm waiting patenly (?)for it to return. A little bird says they will start shipping in two weeks and don't hold me to it...

What if I told you, the left wing and right wing both belong to same bird!

Well first let me state that I was told up front that the design changes were not ready yet when I called in with my "suggestions" and I was given the option to have the first upgrade done and the caller returned ASAP. But me being cheap and all figured that I could wait it out and save the extra shipping charges.

I guess if i have a gripe it's being told 6 weeks at first and then 2 weeks at least 4 more times. I understand sometimes things happen but I like to know why. My post was to see if the field staff was testing the new design and how it was going. As I was finaly told there were a few glitches in the new design that was being addressed.

As for being patient, I haven't had possesion of my caller but for about 30 days out of 6 months and sent it in to beat the rush when I really didn't need it. I guess I still "really" don't need it yet but if it goes past August, they can count me out as a happy cutomer.

Tom, none of us have the answer you want. I finally got through to Steve this morning after leaving a few messages too.

Just like you, my caller has been in NE since April. The only difference between me and you is that I bought two Bandits last year, and while one is in the shop, I'm hunting with the other. If I get mine back first and get a chance to use it, I'll let you know immediately.

I get the feeling that Minaska is going through growing pains, picking up some big vendors, expanding, and totally redesigning the electronics all at once, and are overwhelmed. I think he also announced the new stuff too quick, but from all indicators they want to get it right.

I know that's not what you wanted to hear. And like a lot of guys, you're not going to be happy until you've got your caller back and try it yourself.

Well at least you didn't say 2 more weeks. [Big Grin]

Thanks for the replies fellas, I guess it'll get here when it gets here. I think the changes will be worth it once it gets here.

Borlands sent me one of the prototypes. It arrived Saturday afternoon, just in time for the Expo on Sunday which was an all day affair. We ran some comparisons between callers using the same exact sound, the DSG Cottontail, during the breaks between speakers at the Expo. There is no comparison.

Higgins was busy all day and we barely got to speak. I wish I could have fit 4 more hours into the day Sunday. I would have like to spoken with everyone more.

I was busy all day yesterday, but plan to get out and hunt some, maybe today. The new caller is a total upgrade from the BCB I was using before. It's going to be a huge advantage to those of you who rifle hunt open windy country.

I'll sure back up Nahuatls statement about the caller, I heard it.
It was almost twice the volume as the FoxPro and sounded good.
I'm not going to through my FoxPros away, but I was impressed with the volume of that Minaska. [Smile]
