Well it finally made it back to me and before long they should be shipping these out pretty regular. They had more trouble than a man on the wrong train trying to get things together but I do like the end result.
Here are some of the things they improved; They removed the toggle switch and replaced it with a pushbutton on the remote. They also added an LED light to let you know when it's on. The old switch could be "bumped" on while in a bag and run down the battery.
They added a push button switch to the caller as well as an LED light. They removed the volume knob and placed the external speaker switch inside the case.
These were modifications suggested by me and several others just to make it more "user friendly" and I think they did an excellent job listening to the users and making the changes.
The technical changes include a new one piece circut board that should be more trouble free and it allowed the new features to be added as well as making the caller simply work better.
This is the M1 Bandit, the smallest version they offer which is why I chose it. It fits my style of hunting. Yet if I want alot of noise, I can plug in an external TAO speaker or add an external power source. FoxPro is coming out with one very comparable so if you want a lightweight, compact caller, your choices are getting better.
As for how it works, I'll let you know soon enough. Here's some pics.

That's one of the suggestions I made, some time ago, I told Steve that I removed my pushbutton from outside and put it inside because I couldn't tell when it was on? So, I put it inside and don't worry about it. Plus, I bitched about not knowing if the button was on or not, without a maintained contact, or an LED. In that respect, the toggle was superior. On the M1, just be careful with the case. Somehow, my machine got stepped on and the speaker broke the glue and was pushed into the case, itself. No damage, but I did have to use epoxy and glued "both sides" inside and outside, in an attempt to prevent another event such as I experienced. I'd like to see a flexible antenna, for the same reason.
But, I'm not sending mine in, unless they give me their first born as collateral. I can't be without the unit for more than a week, maybe ten days, during a full moon.
Good huting. LB

Leonard, You should of brought your M-1 along as their shop is only 50 miles from Omaha. Maybe hung around for the USC game this weekend. I stopped in to pick up my warranty card at Minaska yesterday, I can attest to the fact those guys are busy! I purchased an M-1 last weekend, love the light weight and remote. Thanks to all who have made suggestions to the M-1, I am clearly a benefactor! [ September 12, 2007, 09:00 AM: Message edited by: GCrock ]

Yeah, I wished I would have stayed around for the game, but in the paper, they said a couple tickets were going for a couple grand, if you could find them. I saw a lot of USC colors, getting off the plane at Eppley Air Field.
Good hunting. LB
