I been thinking about having this call reproduced. It has such a good sound that i wanted to offer it to the general public. It's a high pitch call and should be a good cat,fox and coyote call.I want to be able to hold the cost down so everyone can afford it,hopefully around $6.95 plus shipping. Before i make a decision,do you guys think it would be worth it?

Major Boddiker would like that. [Big Grin]
So would I. I'll certainly buy one.
An antler reproduction will be unique.

Well, what does that mean, do you intend to cast it in resin, or what?

After the decision is made on the material,i will post it here.I want the best possible tone and pitch i can get out of this call.

keekee, thanks.I wanted to be able to offer this call to all that would want one at a fair price.I'm still going to try to get a better deal on duplicating.I'm thinking, setup fee for $30.00 and $4.00 per call would be more reasonable.

Posted by Kokopelli (Member # 633) on October 14, 2006, 11:13 PM:

If we're going to do it, why not a 'Pee-Wee' & a 'Standard' to go as a set???

Hell, either way; count me in.

I'm in Melvin. Put me down for two.

I'll be interested in hearing how it turns out, especially how the change in materials affects the tonal qualities. My guess is that hard plastic will increase the pitch.

The call was sent.As soon as i hear something,i will post it here.I can tell you the call will be made in ivory and brown. It will cost me a little more than a solid color, but i think it will be worth it.... I want to thank all of you for showing interest in the call. Those of you [pampass know it alls] that wants one will be the first to get one. [Big Grin]

I want to thank all of you.As soon as i get them i will let you know.I've been busy cutting reed material and will have a slight bit of tuning with some.I hope you all will like them as much as i.The price will be $8.00 each and $3.00 shipping, whether one call or 3 calls in the lower 48.Shipping to Alaska and Canada,i will have to check. One more thing i would like to add-The call is a mid range call, but can be heard at long distances because of the high pitch, depending on how you use it.You can go from cottontail rabbit to a mouse sound and everything in between. My favorite sounds on this call are the puppy whines, whimpers, and distress. I will give more information, after i receive the rest of the calls.

Here is a good recipe for moonshine- Buy a quart or pint of candied cherries.Take about 1/3 out of the jar and fill to the top with moonshine(at least 110 proof.)Let it set for a few months, then eat and drink-By then i should have some new calls made!

I got the calls. Those of you that want one or more calls, please send me an email.I will need to know what color and how many.I will also need your address. The calls are $8.00 each plus $3.00 shipping. The shipping will be the same, whether it is one call or a dozen calls.Shipping outside of the lower 48 will be more,i can let you know by email. The calls will be shipped after i receive payment.I won't be shipping any calls untill wed.I will be deer hunting mon.and tues. One more thing i would like to add-I can not take anymore orders, for calls, untill after deer season'or' i get my 3 deer tags filled.

Leonard,What color? No shipping or payment required.Just send your addy.

e mail me at-> poleyup@hotmail.com

These calls are very light and can be used for calling without using your hands. With a little practice you can get pretty good at it.I place the calls tone board about 1/2 to 3/4 ways into my mouth and use it without the need of using my hands. This is a great way to call a predator in and have the gun up and ready to shoot without any movement of your hands.Gloves can kill the voleum of many calls. What i do with this little call is hold it with my thumb and first finger and work my middle finger up and down in front of the call.By using the call this way,you don't loose the pitch and loudness from the glove absorbing the sound.Remember, this is a medium range call, but by blowing harder and raising the pitch, this little bugger will reach out there! One more thing i would like to add-
"PLEASE KEEP THESE CALLS OUT OF REACH OF SMALL CHILDREN!!" They could easily choke on the call or one of the parts of the call.

Melvin

Melvin,

I would email you and get the particulars but it's too damned fun here and each post is but another step toward PAKMANdom.

Are they the antler replicas you spoke of earlier or did you make them different?

If they are antler replica I'd like whatever color looks natural. If not I'll go for one tan, one black.

Well, you can advertize your goods on Huntmasters any time, and it comes with no strings attached.

Posted by Andy L (Member # 642) on May 14, 2007, 04:21 AM:

Aint those a peach Tim? I love those little calls.

I got a den, like every year, about two hundred yards behind my house. I had the neighbors pissed again the other night, (I hope they dont run me out like they did you Higgins, lol). I heard the male just to the north of the house, barking at my neighbors dog, about midnight. I grabbed my lanyard and headed out there, as I have several times now.

I just repeated everything he did, most a howl wiht a series of barks and a "whine", (I think its the same male as last year Higgins, if that "whine" is a individual dialect as you told me, cause he was making that same noise). Anyway, I grabbed that little black call of Melvins and let go with some puppy yelps and he came from the other side of my neighbors yard, abot 150 yards, to my yard, right now. lol He wasnt over 40 yards at the most.

This went on for quite a while. I was standin out there in the wide open, next to the propane tank, and he didnt care. I love doing that. Bad thing was my neighbors had to work the next day, not to mention my wife and kids school. And, I got two Airedales and a JRT in the house that really got fired up when the puppy squeals started and the coyotes, one was me, lit up in the yard. THe windows were open and they were barking treed. lol I think that fired the coytoe up even more, to be honest with you. Between me making every challenge he did and the puppy yelps and the dogs raisin holy hell, he was FIRED UP!!

Anyhow, great call, great range of sound and very easy to pack around.

Thanks Melvin.
