Nice rich!
I have called wolfs with a coyote howler.
Is the sound based from a tape or from what you have herd?

Good Hunting Kevin

Kevin,
I have never heard a wolf howling in the wild. I tune my wolf howlers to imitate what I have heard from various recordings. No two wolves would sound exactly alike, and I am pretty certain that my wolf howlers would fool the wolves. [Wink]

Yes Rich I agre We have lots of wolfs hear in the area that I live
Thay kill live stock around the edge of town and have travoled trew town at nite with photos hitting the local paper.
I have herd deffrent tones and pitches from diffrent gropes.
But a wolf is vary taratorial and will respond to a domestic dog or a coyote howel that is in its taritory.
So yes an intruder is not wellcome any time of year. thay will come.
We hear and read storys of hounds being killed by wolfs that are running bear and lion all the time. A wolf hear wont tolorate a nother k nine in its teatory.
The beast wolf call in my book is a Howler. !
Good Luck with your Wolf Howlers If thay ever turn loose some permits thay should sell like wild fire.
Good Hunting Kevin

SF67,
The howler in above photo is now sold, but I am working on another one at this time. If you would like a good wolf howler, I can fix you up. 65.00 would get one shipped to you, but it wouldn't have the scrimshaw. I have an old friend do the scrimshaw work for me, so those models are a bit more expensive. The wolves don't give a hoot about scrimshaw, but some PEOPLE do. cronkcalls@aol.com is my E mail address.
