Welcome to the New Huntmasters, pondsideshooter. Glad to have you on board.

Yeah, I looked at a 19-223 Calhoon on the CZ action, but never plunged. Seems like a good one, although a Factory 204 covers much of the same ground. If you want to do the work, and like something different, it's worth consideration, although I have no direct experience. Hopefully, someone here can fill you in, but, it's a relatively new chambering, so?

Good hunting. LB

I have taken the plunge on the 19-223 Calhoon for my encore... I haven't shot any rounds through it as of yet...

Thought about the .204, but there aren't alot of components available for it yet, so chose this round... hoping to put it through the tests this summer and early fall...

If you're looking for a wildcat go for it.I just took the plunge on a .204 24" Contender barrel. Should be here in the next couple weeks. As far as components go,there are alot to choose from NOW.Sierra makes 32 and 39 grain bullets,Hornady has a 32 and 40 grain bullet.Calhoun has a 33 grain bullet,Berger makes a 30,35,40BT,and a 50BT.Redding dies for the .204 are group "A" $22.99.Although on back order Midway has Winchester .204 brass for 119.99 for 1000.So if you want a bang for your buck the .204 is the way to go.GOOD HUNTING C.O
