I use a 22-250 T/C Encore.
My buddy has a Savage 204. He shot at a rock at 400+ yards and killed it, couldn't believe it. He has yet to kill a coyote but I think, NO PROBLEM. Nice shooter.

My only advice would be, if your'e just getting started into varmint hunting.. start out with a popular cartridge..there are more choices for ammo 223, 22-250 (I lean towards the 22-250). The wildcat cartridges may limit your choices..

Also, from personal experience. Spend once and you'll never regret it. If it takes you a little longer to save up for what you want, it's totally worth it.

Though i dont know about the Savage model you are looking at i however bought a savage 11fx in 223 and it is a pretty good tack driver. The savage in my opinion is the working mans rifle. They are not incrediably expensive, mine is holding up well through several rough hunting trips and they shoot pretty dam good.
Like with what some others said i would go with a more comin round more choices in bullets and in price.
The Accu Triger is nice.
Good Luck
