Welcome to The New Huntmastersbbs.com, Rick Bevington. Glad to have you on board.

Yeah, I'm sure somebody has one? I think I saw one the other day?

Good hunting. LB

Steve B has one, It looked a bit barrel heavy, and pricey to me, but most Savages seem to shoot very well.

Maybe he'll step up to the plate.

Welcome Rick. I have a Savage Predator in .223, but with less than 50 rounds thru it, I'm not sure how much help I can be. It shoots sub MOA with both H-335, 40gr. V-Max handloads and factory 55gr. Nosler ballistic tips. Many seem to like Sierra #1365 so will work on loading for those.
DanS, this rifle is light compared to my 12BVSS!
Cheers

Thanks Steve, I have a buddy who has a savage 10(I believe in .204) I shot it and loved the accutrigger, so i saw they made the Predator, and figured that would be perfect. Seeing as how i just got rid of my mini-14

Rick, I had the same problem. I had never seen one (other than pics)or touched one until my FFL Dealer received mine. I paid $579 and got it from a dealer in MO. on GunBroker.com. My only complaint is the camo was "touched up" in a couple of places. I decided not to complain or send it back since everything else was fine.

Took her to the desert today with some hunting handloads and looks like Sierra 55 gr. SBT & H4895 might be the ticket. I shoot groups of 5 and didn't have any sub MOA groups. But if you only count 4 of the 5 shots in a group..... [Smile]

Since you have shot a Savage 10 and liked it, you might think about doing the camo job yourself and save a few bucks.

I like that H4895 and use it quite a bit, Varget works very well too. I can always get 1 shot 1 hole groups with my rifles. [Big Grin]

Dan, I get 1 hole 5 shot groups on my targets... it is easy... if the first shot goes where you want it... you shoot four more time to purposedly miss the target [Smile]

I use varget for my 17 Rem and 223 loads... not sure it is going to work with the 19-223 that I am working on...

19-223 willbe a good fur getter. Calhoon makes a fine bullet for that cartridge..
