I had to relate a funny story some of you may get a kick out of. I was out this morning on a little foray setting some stuff. I had my dogs along as usual. Anyway plugging along in the truck and I jump a cat. I built to him with the truck trying to get him cut off for a shot. I got where I thought I was as close as it was going to get and slid her sideways and out the window with the AR. Running at about 200 and I hit a little far back,(one shot by the way) but it was a hit and I didn't figure he'd go far, I seen him run into a brush pile, so I dumped my dogs out to help find him in case he wasn't as dead as I hoped. They hit the blood trail and up the hill we went. Casper was the first one into the brush pile and I heard a hell of a ruckus so I figured the cat was still pretty lively, and he was. I figured that out when Casper came running out of the brush straight towards me with the cat riding him. It was the damndest sight ever. The cat had his front paws sunk in on each side of the dogs head and the rears sunk in his back and was hanging on for dear life. It took the other dogs a secong to figure out what was going on, but then they decided to help their old buddy out. As they all piled on there was no chance for a shot without hitting a dog so all I could do was watch and laugh. Gage finally got his throat shot on the cat and it was all over. But the sight of poor old Casper running at me for all he was worth with the cat riding him all the way isn't one I'll soon forget!

we have all heard the old saying: "so and so can lick his weight in wildcats". I think if you lock a bobcat in a room with just about any canine, it's going to be a Mexican standoff.

Very fortunate of you to witness, Cal.

Good hunting. LB

That would have been some million dollar footage Higgins. Casper would go again today if I could find him a cat. He's alot like me, not real bright, but persistant.

Heck, Cal, that pretty much sums up the whole of calling predators, doesn't it? [Smile] At least, my wife thinks so sometimes.
