Got out this weekend for the trapping opener. Set cages till noon then went back to camp for lunch. Was sitting outside of the motorhome and a cat came walking thru camp about fifty yards away. Adolescent male, skinny and wandering down in the flats.(the cat, not me). Maybe he had worms. I know the desert out there is in pretty poor shape, not much food but this cat was really skinny.
He aint hungry anymore.

There will be readers that will be jealous, Mercer. I have to say, never happened to me, either.

Good hunting. LB

If someone wants to be jealous how about the fact that my partner and myself are off work starting this weekend thru the first of the year and will be leaving northward in his motorhome and both our trucks filled with cages, calls and guns. If that aint enough I just came off my best overnight hunt. Three of us together ran solid from 6:30 PM thru 11:00 AM the next day and called 9 cats killing two with shotgun and seven with rifle including a staggered daytime double. Both Toms which is unusual. Most often a double on bobcats this time of year would be litter-mates still running together. I guess this was just a fortunate coincidence. All total we took nine cats and 7 out of 8 coyotes. A most memorable hunt.
I have picture of the 9 cats but the digital was dead so I used the 35mm and when developed I will send it to Leonard so he can post it for me.
Thanks for listening.

You can put me on that jealous list as well.

I'm off this week and had planned on running a large trapline. But my truck is sitting in the drive with a blown head gasket, and I don't think the wife would be too pleased if I either spent the Christmas money to get it fixed, or used the family car.

So this year It'll be a small line, and several short calling trips, and lots of family time.

On second thought, don't put me on that jealous list. I've had my longlines trapping beaver and coyote in Indiana. Lots of work, damned little sleep and enough great memories to last me for years to come.

I hope that you have a great trip, be sure to take plenty of pictures. Pack up some extra batteries and memory cards for the camera and come back and share them with us! [Big Grin]

Cripes, is that why I keep getting logged out? [Confused]

Leonard, Are you sure that you want to give that kind of responsibility to someone with a hormonal imbalance? I don't want to be held responsible for anybody losing their nuts when she has one of her hot flashes.
