Sorry to bust your bubble but that cat was not killed in Texas. It has made more rounds from people than anything on the web. It was killed in Washington State with the use of dogs. You just posted the third spot in Texas that cat was suposedly killed at.

It's been on here before. I think Pete in Idaho posted it, and that's JJ Hack holding him up?
But, that's okay. How's a guy to know?
Good hunting. LB

It is JJ Hack, a Washington guide, a moderator on a forum or two (African Hunting, I believe). And I believe Mr. Hack guides, or at least does something to do with African hunts as well
He posted on a board someplace, the cat was taken by a client, called to an e-caller within the last year or so (hound hunting has been illegal since the '90s). It was killed 6 miles east of the city of Bellevue, Washington. He went on to say it was around the seventh largest lion ever taken (near the size of the one Pres. T. Roosevelt killed here in Wa.).

Impressive cat wherever it was killed. Maybe I'll call one in someday with one of your calls Jeff. Now that would be something to brag about. ![[Wink]](wink.gif)

Let's face it. That photo is awesome. Looks almost as large as an African lion. Not really, but the message is that it's a huge animal! Worth a second look.
Good hunting. LB

Sorry my bad, North Bend, not Big Bend. I failed geography. The orignal message reads
>>>Check out this Big Cat...scoring 6th in Boone & Crockett... taken 20 minutes east of Bellevue, WA...near North Bend. "Attached is a pic of a cat that was taken about 20 minutes east of Bellevue just outside of North Bend. The hunter is Jim Hackewitz(sp?) of Custom Osteo who spot-stalked him until he (the hunter) was too tired to continue. Then he varmint called to turn the big tom around for the shot. He has scored thousands of skulls over the years and figures that after drying out, the big cat should score #6 Boone and Crocket. Nice! "That is one big cat!"
Thanks for cathing that Purple and keeping me honest, it was a good reminder to better proof my post before adding them. Just like Grandpa use to say "A pat on the back is only inches from a kick in the butt"

This big cat really gets around. A 115 lb cougar was shot 2 weeks ago in southern Iowa and now 2 gun shops around the Des Moines area are posting this big mountain lion as the same one shot in southern Iowa. Wow.
