Has anybody hunted the Mojave Triangle lately? I have been going for about 12 years now and like the area, especially since we hunt at night. I have heard rumors that the authorities are trying to keep a lot of people out of the monument by closing some roads. Has anybody else heard these rumors or have any experience in the area? We have also never seen any other predator hunters at night while we were there. Does this mean you guys don’t like to hunt there? Last time we were there (Christmas) we got a fox and a possible on a coyote in 10 hours of hunting. We have had better luck a few times but now and in the last 5 years or so it seems like we don’t get the responses that we used to get. Anybody else experienced this?

I'll show my ignorance, where, exactly do you mean? Do you mean vicinity of the town of Mojave? Which is a long way from the East Mojave Preserve, or what? The entire Mojave Desert? I'm not familiar with the term?
Good hunting. LB

Opps, I meant the East Mojave Preserve, bordered by the I-15, I-40, and the state borders. Somewhat of a triangle. I forgot all about the town of Mojave. Sorry for the confusion.

Well, the East Mojave is a real can of worms. The National Park Rangers are very much anti predator hunting, or anti hunting completely. They pester and harass and shadow those that refuse to be discouraged. The throw up berms and telephone poles across access roads, and monitor the few remaining. They would rather the Park cater to foreign tourists than citizens and tax payers! Ain't that a kick in the behind? Another thing they are doing is removing all the Quail and Big Horn Sheep guzzlers that volunteers have placed in remote areas....they are "artificial" and therefore undesireable. As far as restricting vehicle access, that's another way of keeping recreational citizens out. Pretty soon, you will only see guided tourists and backpacking eco commandos. The whole situation is built on a pack of lies and sinister motives. US Rep. Jerry Lewis is fighting them, but I don't know if he has a chance?
