A trapper from Utah who wrongfully claimed Nevada residency was found guilty of illegally taking 53 bobcats and 2 gray foxes. Donovan Yates of Mona, Utah was found guilty in Ely Justice Court.
He was also sentenced to 6 months in jail but it is suspended pending payment of all the fines.

WOW you guys finally got the right idea about ACTUALLY having penalties for game violations. 20,000 is enough to make sure that he won't be back for awhile. Are those kind of fines common down there?

53 bobcats at probably $200 to $300 each on the fur market is alot of money. It's worth the chance for some, money does strange things to people. $20,000 big ones should change his mind next time around. I never did like the idea of Nevada not letting us N/R predator hunters take cats. I took a few when it was legal, all nice looking cats and usually on the large side.
