Absolutely nothing to do with calling critters, but a friend and customer of mine manufactures a helluva product for the cattleman which can be seen here.

http://www.rawhideportablecorral.com/

I've seen these corrals in use and one man can set them up and work several dozen cattle without lifting more than a few pounds total. In fact, John has shown that by purchasing this one man corral system, a rancher can save the cost of one man's annual salary in a matter of one short season because only one man has to go work cattle whereas in the past, the same job may have taken two or more men. Oftentimes, just to manage the corrals available on the market.

As a favor to him, I'd like to ask any of you fellas that call coyotes on ranches across cattle country to pass this link along to your rancher friends. Thanks.

Danny,

It really is a pretty nifty setup. There were a couple older gents from CO in there one day picking up their systems and I spoke with John afterwards. He said that a lot of the time, one of these older guys can go handle a couple dozen head of cattle by himself with a Rawhide Corral whereas he usually had to pay two hired guys to do the same job. He said that most all of his customers found that by purchasing the system, they actually saved more in man hours and wages than their investment in the first year resulting in a net saving overall.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing? Maybe there is something unique about it that I don't see?

Good hunting. LB

The wheels? That would sure make it easier for one person to move those sections around. [Wink]

The cool thing is that you dont's have to carry or drag the sections. You just open up the trailer and it stretches out to any shape you want.

I got an invite to be a cowboy for a day from a rancher friend. I was the section mover guy. No fun! Chasing the cows and seperating out the pregnant ones was fun. Watching the guy check for pregnant ones was NOT!

You guys pretty much have it. He's used to dealing with them and when his plant was on my mail route, I'd watch them run a new unit thru its paces and he could go from start to all set up by himself in less than five minutes. I'd never thought about how important it might be to have that convenience, but once he explained it, I saw how valuable a money saver it could be.

For anyone interested, Jack Cain had several patents and innovations in the world of calf roping and release gates. Just thought I'd throw that trivia in.

Understanding the coyote is not as important as knowing where they are.
I usually let the fur prime up before I leave 'em lay.
