Very frightening is a gross understatement. The smear letter sent to Clear Channel to shut Rush Limbaugh up is a perfect example of just the beginning for us if she should win the oval office.
That letter clearly demonstrates the extent to which these people will exploit their political power to the detriment of law-abiding Americans. Whether you agree with Rush or not, you still have to recognize that Harry Reid's letter was a clear and ominous example of federal politicians misusing their authority to try and target a single private citizen's First Amendment rights to speaking freely. The Second Amendment would be nothing but an inconvenient hurdle for them to clear, and if they were to accomplish that, the rest of the Constitution would be out the window. I don't think it's too much of an alarmist to say that the very basis for this country is at risk with this election, and I hope that anyone who currently looks to "sit this one out" in '08 just to "show" the GOP that they're unhappy fully appreciate the ramifications of their actions. Even if your candidate of choice loses, your non-democrat vote will serve to cancel one of theirs out.
I'm really beginning to see the potential for a new civil war in this country if this crap continues.

It tickled me to hear that Ole Rush autioned that letter off for over $2,000,000, plus I think he added $2 Million of his own money to it and donated it to a US Marine Corps charity group.
Then Ole Harry Reid tried to take some credit. What a tool.
