How stupid to allow the computer weenies to decide the National Championship! I'll take a human picked #1, thank you. LB

the computer only does what some human directed it to do...

I think it should go back to there are conference champs based on record within the conference... no need to worry about a national champion... if you want to do that... set up a play off schedule to include every conference champ, play a game every other day, with winners progressing... until there is one left...

uh oh!

Norm, weren't you instructed to delete all your bookmarks and stay with the dark side? Oh well, glad you didn't.

I know you are a computer wiz, so don't take my opinion personally, no offense intended.

But, in view of the drubbing by Kansas State, how can anyone posessing human logic believe that Oklahoma deserves recognition? Don't forget, USC's only loss came early, and in triple overtime; also a bad idea, by the way.

Playoffs? Almost unworkable, but if they come up with a decent plan, who could argue?

Just kidding you about CG, we appreciate your input, regardless.

Good hunting. LB

I haven't figured out how the university of south carolina isn't a contender in all of this hoopla....

I am not what I would classify a computer wiz... I am however a computer system architect thus I have this need to view all opinions to have merit until proven that they do not meet the needs of the problem I am attempting to address.

I am the black sheep of my department as I don't follow instructions well, thus I'll continue to surf, read, reply and participate in as many sites as I can find. Someday when I figure I can't learn anymore (e.g. someone will be covering me with dirt), I'll continue to evaluate techniques and opportunities to make me a better person and maybe a better hunter... Good for you, Norm. As long as you share your knowledge here, WE will never complain about where (else) you hang out.

Back to the point. Can you imagine the pressure on Oklahoma to win? I almost feel sorry for them, and have a feeling which way the game might go. Well, we shall see.

Good hunting. LB

Only one way to have a true National Championship in college football...A PLAYOFF. I am NOT a USC fan nor a Oklahoma fan, but I think both should get a shot at it if Oklahoma wins, if not then LSU should play USC. I remember a few years ago Notre Dame beat Florida State then Notre Dame lost to Boston College. FS and ND had the same record 11-1, but FS was the National Champs, DUHHHhhhh. A playoff with the top 4 teams is the only way. They have playoffs in almost every sport, why not college football.

onecoyote.... the question for me is WHY have a playoff in college football... WHO cares???

That is like taking all members of this board and asking who is the best coyote caller?? We know it is Tim, but don't worry about the process of deriving that...

I know.... same reason there is that many here in Tempe for the taco chip bowl... everyone wants that priviledge to tell someone else that they are king (at least for the last 13 weeks) so don't forget it...

Leonard, I listened to most of that game on the radio while working deer capes in the shop. It was a great game.

Norm, y'all aren't doing such a good job keeping my guys outta trouble down there. It's been a very down day here in Kansas with the issues surrounding our QB. The whole state is talking about what's gone on down there. Ironically, we finally get a chance to prove that KSU can show up to a BCS game and do the job required, and against the defending national champs, to boot. Now, allegations swarm that our QB jumped some chick down there and assaulted her. How bad would it be for the champs to be beat by a bunch of poor ol' dirt farmers from Kansas? And does anyone else wonder about the coinicidence that is these allegations? I hope they put Ell in early in the game so K-State can settle down and play the kind of football they're capable of playing. If you're watching, watch #43. You'll see a lot of Darren Sproles in the NFL. He and Ell, when they click, are poetry in motion. Go 'Cats!

Whoa Norm! Don't go dragging my name into this one! I find plenty of trouble all on my own. I've told you, I don't know diddly about sports. I thought you were talking about Basketball ( The most ignorant game ever invented ) until Danny mentioned Football. Of course, you still may be, and Danny is just leading my thoughts astray. ( Like he did telling me about those little blue pills )

The way things are going right now, you'll kill a coyote in this Valley before I have time to do it again. I need to learn how to shoot a 5" group before next Saturday.

Tim, you're the best, we all know it... 5 inch group... you shooting a 1000yd match??

Cdog; Them farmboys should have taken some saltpeter b 4 coming into the city. The ironic thing is that is seems this alleged victim is a K-State Graduate...

Hey it is a few million into our economy, not that it will help the drought or the busted fuel pipelines, but it is money changing hands. The more they use their Amex cards the happier I will be...

May the best team win...

Yeah, But at this point I'd be tickled to shoot a 10" group. You should come down to Tucson with us and show us how it's done [Wink] You don't have to worry about being embarrassed as long as I'm there shooting too [Eek!]

I don't think I have a rifle that would place a bullet a 1000 yds out and my bow isn't quite sighted in for that distance. Besides, I would get tired before I shot one round. That is a long way to walk to put up a target, then walk back to shoot at it...

Maybe after I talk mother into allowing me to get a tactical 20, then I'll get a 6mm of some sort and place it on the encore versus selling it... Mother may get suspicious as she knows that I would never shoot at an animal over 50yds away, with any weapon.

Good luck...

Walk???? Buddy if they'd have made me walk that far, I'd have never gone a second time!

As for the new rifle..... I won't tell it you don't... You need to read that other thread about getting a new rifle in the house!

I hate these things.

I never know if it is about baseball, basketball, football, soccer, or some other pro-team sport.

My goodness! What planet?

All work and no play, makes Jack a dull boy!

Lance, sorry about the game, fun while it lasted, but it makes Oklahoma's loss look even worse....according to my PC.

Good hunting. LB

Leonard, My neighbor is a staunch OU fan and I went over there last night at halftime to vent my woes. He tells me that the reason OU lost to KSU was that they knew it would make no difference as far as them being in the national championship game. So, they just had no motivation to hand us our collective ass. Be real. If LSU can get them in the reactive mode like KSU did, they'll have them by the shorthairs. OU doesn't like playing catch up. It'll still be one more game worth watching, huh? Geez, I hate the period of time between Monday and next season. [Frown]
