I am posting this on several boards to hopefully reach everyone.

Do you guys really comprehend what this Expo is really all about? It is history in the making.

We'd all like the opportunity to attend the Super Bowl and shake hands with the NBA Dream Team, well... This Expo is that big as far as predator callers should be concerned. That's what this board is about isn't it? We all love hunting predators and are always trying to get better. Take a look at the following greats that are going to attend. I hope you can fathom the opportunity offered here.

“Predator Callers & Hound Men Expo”
Saturday, March 6th, 2004
Silver City, New Mexico

This will be a one day gathering of Predator Callers and Hound Men, for the 1st annual Expo in Silver City, New Mexico.

Some of the people who will be attending are, Doug Kittredge, Jim Dougherty, Murry Burnham, Gerry Blair, Bowen Weems, Major Boddicker.

There will be a floor of vendors in one room and all day seminars in the second room. A fabulous Mexican Buffet for dinner, the Hall of Fame awards along with raffle prizes the rest of the evening.

Be a part of history and attend the first annual “Predator Callers & Hound Men Expo.” You will have a great time and make new friends.

For detailed information, visit the following link: http://www.exit201.com/expo/pch.shtml

Jim Dougherty- World Calling Champion, sixteen calling titles, author of Varmint Hunter’s Digest, archer by profession, has hunted on three continents, inducted into the Bowhunters Hall Of Fame. Caller

Murry Burnham - considered one of the true pioneers in the predator calling industry, expert caller and teacher, innovative product line, expert at night hunting and highly sought subject of any writer, hunter or photographer interested in predators and learning about their behavior.

Gerry Blair - has authored 14 books, long time writer for Trapper Magazine and Trapper Predator Magazine whose writing style is homey and second to none, world record holder for muzzle loader elk, photographer and videographer.

Bowen Weemsof the famed Weems Wild Call predator call has connections in the predator calling world deep rooted in Texas with the very first predator calling club and what many people consider the finest predator call ever made, ties to Bud Lindsey of the Pied Piper predator call.

Major BoddickerWorld travellor, author, CEO of Rocky Mountain Wildlife Products maker of the Crit'R•Call since 1976. Major is an author and also the subject of countless articles on predator calling and hunting, videographer, Bachelor’s degree in Biology from St. Johns University, Collegeville, Minnesota, Master’s degree in Zoology from South Dakota State University in Brookings, South Dakota and finally a Ph.D. in Entomology, also from Brookings.

Doug KittredgeWorld Champion caller and considered one of the toughest to beat in any contest competition.

If you want to meet others like Rich and Tyler Higgins, Byron South, Danny Batastini, Tim Behle and others.... they will be there to say howdy too.

Any of you vendors like All Predator Calls, Loudmouth, Fox Pro, HS, Cronk and others should make it a point to reserve a table and rub elbows with your client base. It will be the cheapest Expo you will ever wish you attended.

If you're a writer, this would be the best opportunity you will ever have to interview and write stories of the people and event.

I apologize for not knowing the Hound aspect of this event but am sure it is equally impressive.

See you there!

If you plan to attend, you can complete the form at the following link:

Attendance Form

We must have your check no later than February 8, 2004 in order to make your dinner reservations.

Yes, this is the first one, and this will be a great event, especially if for no other reason, just to be able to meet some of these "greats."

We are already working on Expo 2005 and it will even be bigger and better.

Come join us and have some fun.

Take care.

My family and I were going to try and make a weekend trip out of it. No way man, I just went to mapquest about a week ago to see just how far Silver City is. It looks as though we will be taking 10 days off and making a mini-vacation out of it. We have yet to see the Grand Canyon with the little ones. Speaking of little ones. I've got 4 and a little wifey. $25.00 each??? Sheesh!

Can I borrow money for gas???

Silver City can't be more than a 3 day, reasonable, drive from anywhere in the conterminous US. That excludes Alaska, Hawaii, and various posessions.

Nice area, but too much new people and new money. Quite bad income tax also.

Locohead,

Read it again buddy. The $25 advanced registration included dinner and raffle tickets. Kids are only $10 for the same deal.

But you can show up at the door for only $5, but then you have to buy your raffle tickets separate, and don't get the Banquet.

It's a lot cheaper than any Deer, Elk, Quail or turkey "Unlimited" type banquet, and going to be a lot more fun too.

If you really want to save money. Don't let your wife visit downtown Silver city. She'll spend a fortune in all of those neat little shops, and you'll have a hard time getting her to go home.

Leonard, I didn't see your name on the Expo attendance sheet. I was hoping maybe Bruce had recruited you for a seminar. Since Danny's going to be there, I can almost envision the two of you doing an Abbott and Costello stand-up presentation on night hunting. Now that would be something to have on video! [Eek!]

I'm sure it will be a huge success whether I'm there or not.

Yeah, I'd like to go, however, I have a date conflict. But, if my new truck gets here by then, well, maybe I might show up after all?

I just can't commit, at this time. Helps to build the suspense, right?

Silver City is a pretty nice place except for all the old people, the traffic, the taxes, and no hangar space available at the airport.

Jack, I have been to Silver City, 4 or 5 times, in setting up the Expo. I have yet to experience what you have said about the place. Silver City has the newest, most modern hospital facilities in the state, and they serve the entire south western portion of the state. They have a University that is very good to boot.

They have plenty of restaurants and motels to hold the Expo, and that is a big plus. The elevation is around 6,000 feet, and that is very nice.

The area has all kinds of hunters, guide & outfitters, and hound men. It sets at the base of the Gila Wilderness, which is one of the best hunting areas in the state.

Taxes? Well we all can't be from Nevada, now can we? Old People? Trust me Jack, if you live long enough, your day will come.

Here is a tip for those who will attend. Almost dead center in the city, near the junction of the two main highways, is a place called "Lotta Burger." If you want a dang good burger, go in there and order the Lotta Burger with double meat and cheese with green chili. Tis good stuff!

If you want to see what Silver City is all about, here ya go:

Well, I was just thinking that it would be good to see you again Leonard. Last time I saw you was several years ago in Globe (where ever that is). [Big Grin]

BK, do you have any recommendations for a good hotel/motel in Silver City?

I could not agree more. Better yet add Rich Higgins and Son to the performance showing some of their video on how real pro's do it and you could not miss having a good time.

Oh, oh, I can see it now. Leonard pulls up in his new truck with magnetic signs on each door, "Truck Rrides, $5.00. [Big Grin]

NASA, here is a link to the motels. The vendors might consider the Drifter or the Holliday Motor Inn (Not the Express) because they have outside access, should they want to back their truck up to the door and bring things inside for the evening.

Silver City Motels click here.

No Mescal for NASA - unless you bring your own skirt for table dances. [Big Grin]

MJM - I don't see your name on the list. How about Bill.

By the way, that list is not up to date. I just don't have time to update it.

I can report that the Expo is really taking off! I am getting calls from many people who are going to attend. The two local Newspapers in Silver City are going to running articles on the Expo, and should appear next week. One of the papers will run it in the most of the papers in Southern New Mexico, and that will be great.

Last week I was in Silver City for two days, passing out flyers to many of the local businesses and that has paid off big time with the locals. Getting many calls from them as well.

I am already working on next years Expo, time permitting, and there will be many changes.

NASA, I mailed you a receipt, but it came back with a forwarding to the Colorado State Prison, with a note that you had been paroled and they didn't have a forwarding address. [Big Grin] I will have it for you at the Expo. Just kidding NASA, but it did come back.

Jay, hang in there and I will get with you, I promise.

I hope to see all of you at the Expo, and it is going to be good time had by all.

Of course the big event will be Leonard showing up in his new truck. [Big Grin]

Take care.

Hey guys, if any of you want to go on a great bear hunt, here is your chance. Check out the Richard Ley Hunt:

Guided Hunt Auctions

Man the price is right for 5 days. You must attend the Expo to bid on these hunts.

Take care.

People, I can't believe how well the Expo is coming together. I keep getting all kinds of phone calls from people all over the country. The Silver City Chamber of Commerce is getting all kinds of calls.

The motel of choice seems to be the Econo Lodge. We can go over to the convention center around 2:00 PM and start setting up for Saturday, so any vendors want to do that, we will be there.

About 5:00 PM, there will be a big group of people head up to the Flame Convention Center for an impromptu party of such. If you are in town, come on by and join us. The Flame Convention Center is bringing in extra help, just to take care of us.

Flame Convention Center
2800 Pinos Altos Road

You can ask anybody in town and they should tell you how to get there.

Yesterday, I doubled the size of the buffet, and those tickets will be sold at the door, first come basis.

Question: I am already planning for next years Expo. Would you rather go Friday and Saturday or Saturday and Sunday. It will be a two day show next year, and what a world of changes we are going to make.

I hope to see all of you there.

Take care.
