L to R Sly Dog, Dan Thompson, Dan Jr., and yours truly, we had an enjoyable visit with them while we were there. The visit was a good way to end an awesome trip.

Q, you are going to have to tell us the rest of this story.
I was assuming you went out to Rawlins and would win hands down;
You didn't let these guys in the picture win did you??

Didn't Anderson get the finger pointing from Rick Palet & Company?

It had nothing to do with a competition hunt Norm. They had those clear back in November. I have never participated in them. Sly and Bryan hunted with me for two and a half days and then went through WY on their way home. I suggested that they try and hook up with Dan Thompson on there way home. I wonder if Dan through them a “Thank You For Leaving Party” also. LOL
Good hunting.

Quinton had us in stitches from the time we got there to the time we left, laughing at each other. Thanks for helping us walk off those steaks. LOL
Jay I think you are right. The finger deal did come from the Rick and company and carried over to a small degree.
Norm, for us to beat Quinton in a competition we would have to force him to hunt in Kansas, while we hunted in Texas. LOL
Visiting with Dan was an enjoyable stop. We got a lesson in the history of the Red Desert Howler and saw examples of the evolution of both the mouth piece and the barrel. He took us through and showed us some of his equipment and even sanded a few down for us. It is quite the operation. He took us to his office and he showed us some pictures of some of the elk he had a hand in taking and there on the wall was his patent.
He has several Weems calls on display in his shipping and packaging room. He pointed to them and said there is the call that inspired me on my distress calls.
The picture was all in good fun and we laughed a lot. The thank you for leaving party at Dan’s was probably the biggest one thrown on the trip. LOL

LOL! Leonard, are you talking about my matching pants??? Our initial plans for the day included doing some hunting. I had no clue that Mr. Thompson would take the time that he did with us, otherwise I would have been dressed more appropriately. I guess I should have put on my matching parka for the picture! LOL

That is on the list right behind get all this gear out of my front room! That I should be working on now. LOL
You are right I won’t forget this trip ever. I’m disappointed that due to time restrictions we didn’t make it to Colorado.

Sounds like it was a great time! To hunt is good company like you did on your trip must of really made it a step above the rest.

The company that we kept along the way really made the trip. The killing became secondary to me very early in the trip so a few hours in Colorado would have been fun too.
Danny over all including those killed by our hosts we had 23 coyotes and 4 bobcats. There were shots passed up for the camera that cost a bobcat in KS and a coyote in AZ and Nebraska

hey all, just droped in to say howdy, needed a break from the editing and thought I'd drop in.
the total tally was 24 coyotes 4 bobcat 1 black buck antelope and a javalina and a swift fox.
Q, I'd like to come back and film some more of that sand hills huntin a little earlyer in the year. That is if you can find a good steak in that country. Thanks again Quinton for everything. It was great gettin to hunt with ya. look forward to next time.
the video will tell the whole story far better than I can so I'll let it do my talkin.. Looks like end of May or first of June for the release date. There is much work involved and I'm kinda slow at it..
Thanks everyone for the support and paitents
