.... wait a while. A few days ago it was in the 100's. Then we had an earthquake. Yeah, a 4.9 in Colorado of all places. Yesterday it snowed at elevation. Trail Ridge Road in Estes Park was closed due to heavy snow. Guess summer's over in the Rockies.

NASA, Higgins was telling me yesterday about all the rain they've gotten the past few weeks with the monsoons. It finally broke loose and gave us some rain for the first time in over a month here and we're down from near a hundred to 60's today and yesterday. Geez, it feels good outside and I'm stuck in the taxidermy shop! The flower beds are all starting to go downhill and the squirrels are scatterhoarding. Something tells me season isn't far off. Only about 40 more summers to go. Wahoo!!!

We had tornados in Wright Wyoming, 20 miles south of me. Over 40 houses destroyed, at least 2 fatalities and a couple people still missing, and last night here it got down to 46 degrees. And its dang cool this morning. But its only a few days till Sept and I have seen it snow here the first week of September.

Cal, when I heard that report I thought about you. Then they said it was about 100 miles N of Casper. I didn't realize that you were that far from Casper. Of course, those twisters seem to be magnetized to trailer parks, so you should be safe. [Big Grin]

Cdog911, I went thru Abilene a couple of weeks ago. I didn't plan to take an alternate route home, so I didn't have your # with me. Otherwise, I would have given you a call. Next time I'll be more prepared. [Frown]

Cal,

You came to mind with me as well. Hope no one close to you was involved. My uncle in SW CO once told me that they had a tornado once in his part of the country, but it was only the likes of an F0-1. Not big.

NASA,

Sorry to hear we couldn't have met up. Would have enjoyed that. If you gimme some lead time next time around, I'll clear some time for you if I can for sure.

Don't like the weather?

Wow, this morning. We never have rain this time of year, and what a thunderstorm; 4:00A.M. Very, very unusual. Major thunder and lightning. Now, it's overcast, but the forecast calls for possible thundershowers the next couple days.

We don't get this stuff, this time of year, what can I say?

Good hunting. LB

The cool weather was mighty welcome this weekend, although the fog made it darn hard to find any cattle in the 1st of 6 pastures. I helped round up, move, brand, and work about 450 head of cattle this weekend. And once the fog cleared, the cool weather made the job almost pleasant!
I missed ya NASA, and I'm sure you feel guilty about shooting my missed p-dogs in WY.!

I saw some doves that had topo maps out, looking for the shortest route south already [Eek!]

Is it hunting season yet? I hate summer!

On Friday I could only only come up with 25 out of that section. Saturday was socked in with low clouds, drizzles, wind, and 40 deg temps. Went back to Boulder at 8 AM. I hope more dove start moving down from the north to fill in the vacancies. It's almost time.
