Yeah, it's pretty evident that they were either in private message or in a protected room.
Ragn, your not going to find any links on those referrers for a couple reasons.
First of all http://www.rollyo.com/search.html clearly indicates that this is a search engine. With that link in the referrals list, it means nothing more then someone searched PM via that engine...and actually clicked a link the rollyo provided in the results.
http://www.proxylord.com/proxy.php is a proxy script. Everything is obtained and brought to the proxy server, the viewer in all reality is NOT really at the site. All this means is that someone accessed PM via a proxy server. Most likely to conceal their identity.
http://www.finsandfur.net/forums/index.php in the referral list can mean two things. First of all it's an index.php file which means it's the main file of said directory. The only thing you can be sure about here is that a link was indeed used to access PM via FnF. The fact that it returned with an "index.php" means either the forum is not publically accessible or it was a private message...or the remaining syntax was stripped. This is actually very common.
http://www.charter.net/google/index.php is another index.php file, same as instances as above.
Most of the time you will never actually find the page or the thread that holds the link if it was within a forum, because of the syntax being stripped. If it's on an actual web page somewhere not embedded within forum software it's real easy.
Here's another toy for you. Alta Vista and Google both have the ability to seek out external links by entering "link:yourdomainname.com" in the search field without the quotations.
There is one hitch though. 9 times out of 10 when another forum links to another forum it's due to an already occurring discussion right? Hey did you guys see what she said about him , bla bla.
So unless your searching for a link to an exact post and use it in conjunction with Alta Vista and Google's "link" operator, your most likely not going to find much.
Here's an example; go to Google and type in link:huntmastersbbs.com
That is suppose bring up all the sites and pages that have published or posted a link to huntmastersbbs.com But you will get null results in this case because the redirect from that url is most likely killing the link check process. Now do it again with PM's url you wont find any links pointing inside an actual forum thread.

I was hoping you weren't going to tell that hillbilly about that little trick. [ January 02, 2009, 07:29 AM: Message edited by: Dan Carey ]

You can't hide anyway Dan. Most of us can see you coming a mile away.
On another note, it's virtually impossible to block a proxy server because the IP address's used, usually change randomly. Websense and Blue Coat are two sources for proxy blocking software, but with random changing IP address's used by the proxy, it will result in blocking millions of legitimate users in the process.

Thanks for the info Jim.
Dan, I don't care if someone comes in the house using a Proxy, I don't care if they come in through the bathroom window.
I do care if they crap in the floor and wipe their butts on the curtains.

Interesting analogy, Randy.
I'm certain that's a big problem at pms. It must take a lot of work ferreting out all those bad guys.

I realize you are not interested in the truth and it probably will not matter what I am about to say, but here goes.

I have better things to do than to ferret out the bad guys, allthough when I smell the crap, I do pull the curtains back to see where the odor is coming from.

Randy, I don't think you're qualified to to even guess what I'm interested in. It certainly wouldn't be how you spend your day. Good luck with your smelling.
I'm sorry I even responded to this thread.

Thanks, Randy. That would probably account for the volume I am seeing?
Nice talking to you this afternoon, too!
Good hunting. LB
