It all starts tommorrow here. I have a few days to kill an antelope, deer, and elk for myself. Then on the 7th it's off to Canada for a combination moose/wolf hunt. Archery on the moose. Then as soon as I get home I start guiding archery hunts. It's going to be busy for me for a bit. I'm sure some of you other guys are gearing up for the big game seasons.

Have a good time Cal, hope you do well.
I got in a few days trying for a buck last week. Didn't score, and probably won't get another chance to try this year. Was awful nice getting out, just the same.

Day one: Mule deer down.
27 inches wide. 42 yard shot after repeated stalks. 5X5 in the velvet.
Pictures as soon as I can get them developed.

Spent a couple of days chasing moose & caribou in the early seasons. Our general moose opens the 8th next week while the early caribou will probably close this weekend when the quota is taken. I'll do bou in the winter hunts and probably with my recurve. Our wolf has been opened since the 10th of aug but their fur isn't worth hunting right now.

Hey that's a beauty Cal. Well done!
How you like that Bowtech? Been shooting Hoyt for 10 years, but thinking about a Bowtech next year.

Thanks guys. Dave, I really like my Bowtech. That deer was first blood for it. It is the Patriot model. Very smooth and fast and quiet. I'm getting right at 280 fps with a 400 grn arrow. Pulling 72 lbs. I looked at all options and liked it the best.

I'd like to compliment whoever took the photo. It has a nice sky background, everything the pros recommend.
One thing I learned in Africa, is they grab clumps of grass and mop up blood dripping from the mouth, and stuff it inside, if needed.
That's for the wimps; doesn't bother me to know that you killed an animal and it actually bled!
Again, nice buck and a real nice pic. You should have it enlarged and framed for your den.
Good hunting. LB

I was just scrolling this thread, and my wife saw it, and said: "hey, who's that?" to which I replied: "that's Cal Tayler".
Then, she said, "wow, he's really cute".
Only one opinion, Cal, don't get a swelled head!
And, don't the rest of you guys poke fun at the man for his handsome good looks, either! Might embarass him?
Good hunting. LB

Cal Taylor, That new archery target I am making for you will be finished soon. The lifelike 3D Rich Higgins caught in the fence model ya know?

Geez, I can't turn my back on any of you guys. A guy goes hunting for a day or two and this is what you start.
Leonard, tell your wife thanks for the compliment, but it's just the camo playing holographic tricks. That is some really good camo.
Rich C. I'll be looking for that target.
Rich H. I set the little beasties free, because I needed the room for some hunting pups. But I still see them around once in a while. They live in the big tree patch behind my house. They seem to be doing fine, our rabbit and mouse populations this year are horrendous and they are living on something.
