Hello Raven,

I have family north of you, in Evant. Some good hunting country around there that should help get your Mom down for a visit. [Wink]

I can think of 4 top and important Number 1 reasons, right off the top of my head to get to Texas... Raven, Lil Black Bird, Ronnie and Judy!

I'm saving my pennies... Don't know when but we'll get together then hun... we're gonna have a good time then...

Raven. Welcome to the swelter shelter. Least you don't have the skeeters up there. I told you're mom after spending the forth of July in Texas you would probably be home on the eighth of July.

Welcome to Texas. You need something you know which way to holler.

Hey pup, do you read the Hamilton Herald?

ok, so I'm probably going to sound really blonde here but, Rich, what's a Luby's?
[Big Grin]

Luby's is a chain of cafeterias. Back in the 90s in Killeen, Texas, some nut job drove his pickup through the window of Luby's on a busy weekend day and shot and killed 23 people , wounded another 20 before turning the handgun on himself. People cowered under their tables as he emptied two handguns and systematically reloaded and continued murdering them.

As horrible as the Luby's incident was we got canceled carry six months later.

Guess I sound blonde, too? I think I remember the incident, but I thought it occured in a McDonalds? Never heard of Luby's and I spent three days in Texas, once.

Good hunting. LB

Raven

If you ever need a good road trip, head down to the Salt Lick BBQ in Driftwood. Bring your own Beer.

I remember it well. Had TX already been CCW, he'd probably have barely made it past the first six shots. It was good to see TX take the smart route and implement CW rather than use the incident as a springboard for more stupid gun laws.

Ok No Luby's. Check!
Hot Weather. Check!
Salt Lick BBQ, BYOB. Check!
Missing Mom Terribly. Double Check!

So on a lighter note... Now that I'm down here, does anyone have any nice young gentlemen to set me up with? *grins* Or atleast someone to take me to a shooting range for a little while? I'm sure my trigger finger is getting rusty!

One thing I can sure say for this state, It is so beutiful! A girlfriend of mine took me and bug to Stillwater Lake yesterday! Wow! And the sunsets here are like 360 degree sunsets! I have never seen anything like 'em ever!

Thanks for welcoming me to the Lone Star state!

Love and Kisses, Jamie

I just made the mistake of looking at the Farm Love posts... and all I gotta say is MMMMAAAAAAAAN what did I get myself into by moving down here? I'm more afraid of sheep lovers than I am of Luby's I think! LOL You boys aren't right! I still have yet to see the sheep I sent to the desert with mom. HHmm... wonder which one of you is hiding it? Should I make a guess????

Okay Jamie, stop listening to these non-Texan yokels. Here's the straight scoop:

Luby's is a great cafeteria style restaurant. Good food if you don't mind chowing with the blue hairs. Check it out.

Second, the Salt Lick has good BBQ but certainly not the best by a long shot. You go there for the atmosphere mainly, but the BBQ is pretty good as well. And don't worry they have plenty of beer there... and they sell it to you too.

Luby's are found in most of the state, Salt Lick is in Driftwood, SW of Austin maybe 15 miles.

Have fun!

Jamie,

Where all should we register?

I'm thinking Bass Pro, Cabela's, and the Sea Doo place.

Tripp! My word! Is that a proposal? I'm fine with all that, but we had better register with Harley Davidson and Yamaha too! What's the point of having all those fine wedding gifts if you can't go show 'em off While riding something cool! *Kisses*

Injun, I haven't seen you in forever! I remember fondly those days at Posse Country! I was still young and cute! LOL

Thanks so much for welcoming me everybody! It's good to see the old faces and to meet the new! *hugs to everyone*

I know of a nice shade tree on the edge of a wash just south of Safford that would make a nice location for a wedding.

But can we get the happy couple to hold off until October or November?

Posted by Raven (Member # 204) on June 04, 2006, 10:02 PM:

Yeah, You're right mom... A girl does have to have her price... and Since I've apparently just been sold. My price is a Jeep as well. So I'll tell ya what Tripp.... If you can afford a Jeep for mom and me... SOLD! As a matter of fact if I get a Jeep and a new home out of this deal, I'll send give you my number and address myself! The heck with mom's jeep!
