3 non-snoring, non-burping, non-farting coyote hunters decide to share a room at the hotel McNeal. They are charged $30 for the room so each guy pays $10.

The manager realized there was a mistake and the room should've only cost $25 so he sends the bellhop upstairs to refund the $5. The bellhop is a secret member of PETA and decides to rip off the hunters. He keeps $2 and refunds the $3 to the hunters ($1 to each).

So, if each hunter paid $10 and was refunded $1 then they actually paid $9 each. Right? So 3 guys times $9 dollars equals $27 plus the $2 dollars the bellhop stole equals $29.

Where did the other dollar go?!?!

edit: because I've been writing "should of" my whole life instead of "should've" (which is also incorrect) and was just pointed out the error of my ways! Someone codependently thought I might appear as abnormal (me?, yeah right!) if I didn't edit! [Wink]

the actual cost of the room was $25 dollars. the hunters each got $1 back which equals $28 and the poodle kept $2 which equals $30

That's tricky and I'm probably wrong, but it should add up to $25 rather than $30 I think? Three hunters, $27 ea, the bunny kisser, $2. 27-2=25.

Loco,

The whole situation is a load of crap. Everyone knows there's no such thing as three non-snoring, non-farting coyote hunters.

Tripp,

Good catch, but I'm still wondering where he found a motel ( Or a two story building ) in McNeal.

Hotel McNeal?... they all 3 slept in the same bed, so it was probably a brokeback McNeal adventure;

they paid 10 when they should have paid 8.33 with one paying 8.34;

of the 5 refund, they would have each gotten 1.66; actually one got 1.66 and two got 1.67;

so if the tree hugger took 2, it was the cents of the refund and the hunters got the dollars...

regardless they got screwed, but probably loved it. [Confused]

My daughter is taking an abnormal psych class in college.
She uses your posts as subjects for her papers.
She is getting straight A's.

Norm, the bunny hugger returned $1 dollar a piece and kept $2. That equals $5. Who said anything about $1.66 and such? Let's see, your way, $1.66 plus $1.66 plus $1.67 plus the $2 the bunny hugger stole equals $6.99. You are confusing me more than even Brad did with his answer! LOL [Smile]

Simpleizeified:
3 hunters pay $10 then get refunded $1 each.
So each hunter pays $9 each. $9 x 3 guys equals $27 plus the $2 stolen from the bunny hugger!

That equals $29. Where the %(*)^#@! is the other dollar?!?! [Mad]

the bunny hugger stole the cents... .66 +67+ 67 = 2.00.

The hunters paid 10, when they should have paid 8.33 or 8.34; (25/3) they gotta a dollar when they should have gotten 1.66 or 1.67; (5/3)

so, 30 - 25 = 5 refund; 5/3 = 1.6666666; 2 to the bunny hugger (3*.6666666) and 3 to the brokeback partners 3*1).

All monies are accounted for... the $ didn't go anywhere....

The hunters paid 30.00
The clerck returns 5.00
= 25.00
Peta takes 2.00
= 23.00
23.00 devided by 3 is 7.67 for two hunters and the third paid 7.66.
2x7.67= 15.34, plus 7.66 =23.00

Sorry Loco, but backwards math don't fool us old redneck knowitalls.

The 3 hunters paid 10.00 each which was a total of 30.00. Motel clerk sends the PETA guy over to refund the 5.00. PETA only refunds 3.00 by giving each hunter 1.00 each. This means that the 3 hunters actually paid 27.00. 9X3 = 27, right? PETA stole 2.00. 27.00-2.00 = 25.00. There ain't no missing dollar Mr. Loco. [Wink]

AAAH HAAA!!!! So the burpless and fartless guys actually each paid $9.33 or $9.34 each not $9 each!!!

Thank you Norm. See I read the question in this book I'm reading but the author promised to reveal the answer later in the book but I couldn't find. Now my wife and I can finally sleep at night!

Thank you Norm', Thank you!!! [Wink]

But lets now pretend this hotel McNeal was actually a casino, brothel, and saloon. The trappers pay with 10 coyote pelts a piece. They each get one back and the outlaw steals 2 pelts. Then what? How could he steal the change then HUH?!?! [Eek!] [Confused] [Mad] [Roll Eyes] [Wink]

I think Norm is right Rich. Remember there was $30 to begin with. Your way there is $5 dollars missing. I think.

Am I right Norm?

Rich has it. It's really 27 - 2 = 25. Not 3 x 9 + 2 = 29.

Locohead,

I should have a bale of coyote pelts ready by the weekend, where do you want me to drop them off?

Posted by Norm (Member # 240) on November 27, 2006, 06:16 PM:

well, you tell me how they would have paid the 25 pelts they owed... when they didn't really owe 30..... [Big Grin]

Locohead,

The wife just reminded me that I'm not allowed to go into Brothels, I don't like to gamble and I probably hadn't ought to go into a Saloon with out her.

So, just out of curiosity, how much would you charge to let me just look through the windows?

Tim, that chicken farming is getting the best of you... Given such place doesn't exist in McNeal... I figured you would be the first to the city council to present plans for creating such an establishment on CritterGetter Lane.

A home based business concept... You being the owner, would have to step inside to ensure the proper management of the business, so you wouldn't be doing anything incorrect... [Big Grin]

Tim,

Back when you were a moderator on PC, did you call yourself CritterGetter or have a web page by that name?

Sorry for the off topic but Norm's post got me thinking.

Dennis,

That was me. I ended up giving my last Crittergetter web site over to the Indiana State Trappers Association. Web sites can be fun to build, but the maintenance on those things wore me out.

I was the first Trapping Moderator on Predator Masters, but if I did any moderating on PC, I can't recall.
