A friend of mine was out coon hunting one night and he shot a coyote. He reached down to pick-up coyote and carry it to truck, and all of a sudden he felt something crawling on his hands. He dropped the coyote and turned a light on to look at what was crawling on his hands. His hands where full of little brown worms about the size of a maggot. My friend then looked at the ground by the coyote and there where more worms there also. The fur on the coyote was matted, and thats all he could tell me.
Anyone have any ideas on what these could be and why?

1.Flukes ( lung or liver)
2. Tapeworms
B.Roundworms
1. Ascarids(intestinal worms)
2.Ancylostomids (hookworms)
3.Spiruroids (esophogeal worms)
4.Filaroids (heartworms)
5.Trichinellids (lungworms)
6.Dioctophymoides (kidney worms)
7. Acanthocephalids (spinyheaded worm-intestine)
The roundworms can be lethal to coyotes.

You can rule out fluke and tape worms. I believe they are strictly internal. Doubtful you'd have found any externally.
