On Mother's Day 1968, all of the men of the Recon platoon of 2/1 gave their lives on a mountian top trying to hold off the NVA from over running the Kham duc Special Forces Camp down in the valley.
We buried one of them today.
This is the story of my platoon before I took them over in 1971. They were just your average middle America kids who were drafted, but they would go wherever you asked them to go and they would fight whenever you asked them to fight and they would die whenever you asked them to die.

Thanks, Bob. Hard to express your feelings after reading something like that. LB

Buffalobob,
All hero's IMB. Glad some made it back home. Thank you, & them for your service & sacrifices.
Two of my Bro's went through hell over there. Seen their bud's get killed. Wasn't their time, they both made it home.

Buffalobob,
Spoke with my Bro 1dog. He told me the following;
173rd Airborne Brigade D-Delta CO. 3rd Bat 503 Inf.
Served In VietNam 70-71
[Long Range Recon Patrol] 12 man team, 6-man recon squad Mission length-2wks generally. Longest mission 63 days.
Out of Bro's origional Recon Team of 12. Sargeant Stewart & my Bro. Were the only ones that were not casualities. They had many replacements.
