Anyone familiar with South Central Idaho. My Company is moving me there in the spring and I was wondering what the area is like. More specifically what the hunting opportunities are in that area....Thanks.

I see you're in PA now. Lot's of guys in PA that like to shoot 'chucks. If you're a 'chuck shooter, you'll find the rock chuck shooting in that part of Idaho to your liking.

Lots of good coyote hunting too.

Within easy striking distance of great big game hunting as well.

Plenty of good fishing around.

Geeze, it gets cold there, even snow, lots of mountains, wolves, stuff like that? Why would anyone want to live there?

Good hunting. LB [Smile]

I suspect you will like it a lot better than PA. Not quite the density of game, but you can see them further away. The climate is a bit more comfortable too. Cost of living is slightly less than PA.

Thanks... The town is Burley, I'm a little nervous about moving my family across the country like this, but I think it will benefit us in the long run....

Lungbuster; Take a deep breath & sit back and enjoy the adventure!! You're gonna love it!!

Hint; Pick up a Delorme Gazetter (sp) and start studying on it now. You've got a lot of scouting to do.

To the Western hunter, the Delorme's are like sacred scrolls. They are state topo maps in a large book format. Try doing a Google search & you should find someplace to order them.

You're also going to need better optics; music by Willie, Waylon, Meryl, Johnny Cash & Paycheck; and last but not least, a new hat.

You do drive a pick-up truck......??
