Mattie has been cooped up in town for 8 months and it has taken it's toll on her. She has become aggressive toward our small dogs and she injured one of them today. We cannot keep her inside with the little ones but it would be cruel to suddenly banish her to the backyard, alone. If anyone will adopt her I will be grateful.

There's some sort of sanctuary/commune for canines down in MACNEAL?

Sorry to hear about her, Rich. Might let the members know a little about her, age, breed, spayed, etc. We keep our dogs (big males) outside, kitty cat inside. They get along real well with the 50 chickens/roosters that roam. I finally had to let Dean "put down" our oldest rooster yesterday and as stupid as it sounds, it was hard. I had gotten into the habit of taking a walk to look for him every couple of hours. The other roosters were beating the snot out of him and then the hens would take their turn pecking him. We should have discovered that nail in his foot long before we did. He was never the same.
I hope you're able to find a good home for her, these pets are like best friends.

Rich, find a home for her? If you were closer I would put her to work.

Dang Rich, I'm sure she'd love the weather up north here in Prescott, wish I could take her.

I might have a couple of ideas though . . . . let me talk to some people and I'll give you a call.

Rizzo, thanks for the thought. The problem arose because I was working 100+ hours a week and was never home. I began giving her the time and attention she needed and everything is fine now.
She can't tolerate the heat so I won't be taking her calling for a couple of months yet. She's a different dog then.

Rich, have you ever started a topic up on what it took to train her?

Oh yeah, wow, I just realized that you posted this like 3 months ago. Guess I'm behind the times [Wink]
