Has anyone seen the new show on Discovery called the " Alaska Experiment " where they've taken some yayhoos from the city who have never had to use survival skills and or hunt. They sure drop all that none hunting attitude in a hurry when their bellies are talking to them. Kinda funny to see how they express the same frustration and excitement and depression when their hunt goes sour.

Just makes me wonder just how many in this world would drop off for dead if there were a major ice age to come about...

I watched a similar show a couple years ago called the "New Orleans Experiment" where the government blew up some levees and flooded the entire city and forced a bunch of these urbanites into a Superdome to see how they would interact while under stress.

Same sorta thing.

My money say that, like the old saying - "There aren't any atheists in a foxhole", there aren't many non-hunters when the government isn't doling out free money, food stamps, or relief aid in times of disaster. How many of our soft little urbanized friends could actually "make a real living" if they found themselves forced to literally live off the fat of the land?

I may not be wealthy, nor am I what many would called cultured or refined, but I know how to wear a belt, don't drink lattes, and can "skin a buck and run a trot line" any time the need arises.

that's funny,, since they give out 92,000 antler less tags around Philadelphia and they sell out in weeks.

I think most of us here in the big city would do just fine,,

Yeah, but George,

1) what's the success rate for filling those 92k tags? Anyone can buy a deer tag.

2) How close do they have to be to the deer before they can hit it with their Glock?

3) after NO, I'd have to see it before I would believe it. No offense. I've seen my fair share of urban hunters around here in their just-bought-yesterday hunter orange, their fancy new rifles, and the Cabelas receipt falling out of their pocket. These are the guys that actually sit a stand for the first fifteen minutes, then go back to their mobile deer blind so they can cruise the roads in search of ol' Mossy.

Do you think the producers are making sure that the "hunters" are properly licensed and have valid tags for the animals they are killing?
I've wanted to go on a Moose or Mountain goat hunt in that area for a long time but I cant afford it....
The mountain goat that dirtball with the dreadlocks killed was a nice animal. He probably didnt even realize what a great opportunity he was given.....

Oh yeah! they did mention to hunt in Alaska you must obtain a guide, so I assume its all legit and yeah I agree I doubt he'd ever appreciate it like we would. I sure wished they made him gut it instead of the guide, but atleast he packed it out I suppose.

the best thing is
No key to the front gate needed,

Let see from what i know of hunting white tail in Texas first you need a place to hunt , witch are hard to come by, then you need your feeder, a timer, lots of protein feed and corn, a alarm clock to get you up 30 min. before sunrise so you can drive under you blind, witch you need to be in not before the sun comes up but before the feeder go's off ,

do you guy put something in between each key so they don jingle wile you are climbing the stair case to the box blind LOL
