A few surprises, as to where traffic is coming from. 3.4 million hits, 22GB of information, small potatos compared to the 800lb gorilla, but still...below, a few of interest.

If my understanding is correct, the referring site is where the user was previously before coming here. Those stats would seem correct considering we are all friends visiting from house to house. ![[Roll Eyes]](rolleyes.gif)

I have access to all the rooms and there are no active links. It does not have to be an active link. If the browser being used is currently viewing a website, then the user goes to his next website, it will show the previously website to the stats of the new site. I just checked our stats and these are the conclusions I have come to based on the information I acquired. There are instances in the stat page where the visitor does come from a link. Those are listed as such and you can click on it and go directly to the page that your link would appear. For the most part it just goes to the main page of the previous site the user was viewing.
Of course in my feeble mind I may have drawn the wrong conclusions from my study

I might even re-register over there if RedFrog was gone. Most of the others that I had troubles with over there are no longer moderators, he's kind of the last holdout and I will guarantee you I won't go back as long as he's there.

I had to hop in an attempt to make a clarification.
A referring website in your stats does not mean that a user merrily came to huntmastersbbs after previously leaving the referral site, simply browsing.
It means a link was used.
The stats programs do not use browser sniffing and collect information about where a viewer previously was. There are programs and sites that DO offer that, but control panel stats do not.
I believe the Alexa site has databases that provide this information for a period of time. And on the site it's labeled "user that visit this site also visit the following", or something along those lines. It's done in pattern grouping not detailed specifics.
The referrals found in the stats program are kept track of by the link used to enter huntmastersbbs, and where that link was clicked from. The more it happens the higher the referral goes up the referral list.
If the stats was really logging browser history, do you seriously think Google would be on the top of the referral list?
